These forums are filled with good Christians espousing the glories of God. Many of them are convinced that after they shed this mortal coil they will be welcomed into paradise with open arms, while the rest of us sinners will be cast into the fiery pits of hell.
While I have my doubts as to veracity of their beliefs, they are convinced they have it right. Being the true believers they are, no amount of reason or logic can convince them of their error. Well that’s fine by me. After all, everybody should be allowed to believe what ever they will.
But, if in fact they really do believe that a better life awaits them, I suggest they quit postponing the inevitable, get on with it and consider taking a bath with their favourite electrical appliance. Why would anybody want to continue living in a van down by the river, when they have a room reserved at the Hilton? Makes no sense to me.
I think that many of the faithful would agree that the world today is fraught with many diverse dilemmas. Global warming, dwindling resources, poverty, disease and famine, just to name a few. Wouldn’t it be the good Christian thing to do, to give up their place in the snack line and move on to the banquet? Why be content gnawing tube steak with the rabble, when you could be dining on caviar with the chosen few?

Heya Chuck. This is why most religions have rules against suicide. Killing yourself is generally not considered to be a ticket to paradise. Sacrifice? That's another story. Is the Marine who jumped on a granade to save his fellow soldiers in Hell, for that action? I can't imagine too many religious folks saying he is. In fact a number of religions award such sacrifice with better treats in paradise.

I have raised your point when it comes to the issue of abortion. Most religious folks believe aborted fetuses go directly to paradise without having to pass "GO". Isn't that an argument in favor of abortion? Afterall aborted fetuses don't have the chance to grow into adult atheists.-

I think it's really all about membership drives, and the dead don't tithe, and the aborted will not become future tithers. How do people like Dobson and Robertson keep their expensive homes and cars going without a constant source of new recruits?
