How Do I Submit Great Stories?
Posted by: James Marcus on 6/20/2008

If you’re new to Propeller, you may be a little confused about what sort of stories to submit here. The basic answer is: anything goes. You can post stories from the mainstream media – meaning the websites run by major newspapers, magazines, and television stations. But we urge you to look elsewhere as well, in order to find stories that may be more peripheral, but no less fascinating. Check out blogs and other niche websites, or trawl through video repositories such as YouTube or AOL UnCut.

We don’t allow commercial solicitations, and usually try to direct readers back to the original source, rather than a quick-and-dirty repackaging with no substantial addition to the story. (To learn more about the Middleman Rule, as it is called, check the FAQ.) As long as you stay within these guidelines, though, we welcome stories from every corner of the Web.

Ladies and gentlemen, you may submit when ready! And to watch a video discussion of these issues, click on the Play button below.
