Here we can see the deceptively humble banana as demonstrated by a local science whiz whose IQ we dare not speak out loud. Yet, we all know it possess multiple properties in spite of its innocuous outwardly appearance. As Peter Sellers did in the Pink Panther, it can be used for an attempted hijacking. And, it is an inherently funny fruit-surpassed only by a watermelon. Of course, it can also be eaten. We are supposed to have 5 total of fruits and vegetables a day. It was a 2007 new years resolution for me to make sure each day each member of my family had 5 servings. Yet another thing we all can do for mother earth: buy organic, buy local, bring your own shopping bag. Wasalam/Peace.
