Never shy about putting in my two-cent's worth.
A local reporter was scouring the neighborhood for the local's opinion
on an issue. I saw him enjoin my neighbor up the hill in conversation,
and I saw my neighbor point down to me. Almost immediately the
reporter (with cameraman in tow) came down the hill and asked for
my comments. I interrupted and asked if he could tell me what my
neighbor had said first. He laughed and said my neighbor had said,
" See that person down there? You should go ask them -
they've got an opinion on EVERYTHING."
So there you go - it's not a secret!
VERY opinionated but always - if not happy to be - at least willing to
be corrected if wrong.

Hi! Thanks for the heads-up re Hardwick. For some reason I wasn't able to respond there - it kept doing odd things.. I read it thinking I could find some friends mentioned - or pics of them - but didn't. I was amazed by the figures they were talking about..
It never was much of a town, in my experience, but definitely the country round was great! I was in NYC in June for my daughter's wedding and bought some maple syrup, as I always do when I'm there, made by friends from a bit further up, West Glover, close to where Bread and Puppet are located.
THAT was the highlight of all the years that I lived up there! Alas the Resurrection Circus as it was is no more but I just discovered that they are still doing something with the same name but regularly and on a smaller scale. The original died, I believe, because of a death related to drugs. I don't remember the story exactly - it was after I was already long-gone from VT. I would LOVE to go back up there. I had aplan to go and teach there but then injured myself in a way that I haven't been able to do that work since. I also have a very profound relationship with Lake Mooselookmeguntic in Maine, which I cinsider a place as close to heaven as anywhere that I've found on earth, though bits of Mexico came close for me too!
Take care! Good to see you around sometimes!
