OPEC Leader States U.S. Dollar Will Cause Oil to Rise to $170

Money – Current OPEC President Chakib Khelil is predicting that the price of oil may rise as high as $170 a barrel before the end of the year, citing further declines in the U.S. dollar and increased political conflicts.

News – In order to deal with inflation, Mexico has frozen food prices. The new pact which will remain in effect until the end of the year freezes prices of more then 150 food items, including flour, tortillas, and many other staples.

Apple to Offer iPhone Users Trade Up Plan

Gadgets & Tech – Apple Inc. stated Thursday that it plans to allow consumers who purchased the iPhone after May 27th to be eligible to exchange their current iPhone with a new iPhone and also receive a refund. Apple reported that they have sold over 6 million iPhones since its debut just one year ago.

Gap To Downsize its Stores

Kodak to Raise Prices by 20 Percent

Shopping – Kodak announced that is going to need to rise its prices across the board by 20 percent on higher material costs. The higher prices will go into effect on July 1st, and should help the company offset its higher costs for aluminum, silver, and oil.

Yahoo Sends Rebuttal Letter to Ichan

OPEC Increasing Oil Production by 300,000 Barrels

Money – Saudi Arabia, the world's largest oil exporter, stated that it plans to increase oil production by 300,000 barrels a day in response to higher demand and by request from President Bush. The move which will go into effect next month will increase its current production supply by 3.3 percent.
