I am a 60-plus widow, recently retired after almost 40 years in the newspaper business. My love of politics was learned, first, from my father, a small-town Justice of the Peace for 18 years, then, my husband, a national award-winning reporter and White House Press Corps member for the Houston Post. I met and married him when he came to South Texas, having bought several small papers. Like most Deep South Texas residents, I am a lifelong Democrat, but that is not etched in stone; I am open to other party candidates if I deem them better. I am a voracious reader, love gardening and embroidering, and am also a big movie buff, since that was my father's business. Love classical and country music. My first love was James Dean, followed by Elvis Presley. I joined Propeller to learn more -- about everything. My life's motto is "A day without learning something new is a wasted day"

The Pentagon has acknowledged that it had authorized sexualized abuse. And documents obtained by the ACLU have Rumsfeld, in his own words, checking in on the sexualized humiliation of prisoners.

Newest Scandal: Obama Says "A" Instead of "An"

Humor – Intoned a man in a suit on television. "The question is whether we can trust a man who says "an" one day, and then suddenly says "a"? Does this show a lack of experience? Do we really know who Obama is, rhetoric-wise?"

And on the wings of no-bid contracts -- that's right, sweetheart deals like those given Halliburton, KBR and Blackwater. The kind of deals you get only if you have friends in high places. And these war profiteers have friends in very high places.
