It began in the 60's with a core group who fought hard AGAINST Civil Rights ... - and - AGAINST Peace in Vietnam. Obviously, this is contrary to the spirit of Jesus Christ. A way was needed to reconcile the war loving bigotry that united this group.
The solution? RE-BRAND Jesus! RE-INVENT Him! After all, the REAL Jesus has a distinct air of Socialism. So using their media connections, they began promoting their war-loving bigotry as TRUE Christianity! The REINVENTED Jesus got an official blessing from prominent government leaders when Newt Gingrich merged his Revolution with this Reinvented Jesus Movement! And that's how the Morally Vacant Christian Conservative Political PAC was born!

Here's yet ANOTHER example of how stupefyingly thick are supporters of the Modern Republican Ideology.
On a story submitted by one of the Rabid Ones, the discussion centered on Hugo Chavez nationalizing oil service firms.
The Rabid Ones were enraged at this example of Socialism. So ... I added ANOTHER example of Socialism ... when George W. Bush stole land from the good citizens of Arlington Texas using Eminent Domain ... so he could build a tax funded stadium (that HE would own).
Here's what a Rabid One wrote in response...
Damn Goppy,are you complaining because somebody made fourteen million,or just because Bush did it.All during the Clinton years they were putting togather all these books that would make them one hundred million dollars.I don't have a big problem with that,but back in the eighties the democrats sh!t their britches every time a republican made a buck based on their time in office.Bush is gone, so don't watch what Obamas right hand is doing bashing Bush,keep your eye on his left hand,remember he came to us right out of the Chicago gangland.He is hell bent to screw you,tatoo and hang you on the wall. The Right ... sad to say ... have completely lost their sense of patriotism. In their mind ... they have already seceded from the nation - preferring to inhabit the nation of anti-Americanism.
And their Prophet Messiah is Rush Limbaugh.

I followed you to the Obama/Money story and my radar went into high alert immediately and I checked it out for the crap it was, write that up and posted it and then found that you'd been there before me - long before!
Anyway I finished up reporting it to the prop guys but would still like to see those idiots eat humble pie!

It's disheartening sometimes that my fellow Christian Conservatives have such little regard for the traditions our nation embraced for decades.
Unfortunately, out of our national victory in WW2, those industries closely associated with that fight, the military contractors and the oil companies, have used the power they accumulated from that conflagration to consolidate power, and squeeze our nation by the gonads ... and demand that we thank them for this insult.
While they have held our nation in a vice-like grip, using fear, smear, and intimidation, other nations have emerged from the destruction of WW2 and have steadily emerged to provide a truly civilized society for their citizens ... surpassing many benchmarks that The United States formerly claimed for themselves.
Just about the only thing we can claim for ourselves as being the MOST anymore are ... spending more money on the military than the ENTIRE WORLD ... and using more oil and gas than any other nation.
And THAT should surprise no one who has been watching.
The Military Supplier Industry and the Oil Companies care about one thing and one thing only ... growing their power and control. They do not care about the health of America .... OR it's citizens. -
