News – Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad announced today that he was freeing the 15 British sailors and marines captured on March 23. He announced the pardon minutes after he gave medals of honor to the Iranian coast guards who intercepted the Britons, saying Iran will never accept trespassing of its territorial waters.
