Why am I of all people, a "beauty guru?" I use Smashbox, my friends use it, and I know there is something missing from this line that's keeping it from busting out and becoming huger than huge. Smashbox! This is me calling! Let me in! I know exactly what women who spend money on makeup are looking for. We want to be excited, we want to wait for the next launch with our fingers on the key, and make that baby sell out before anyone can get their hands on it. I know women who photograph their smashbox stash, worship at the shrine of smashbox, but long for it to go BANG! It starts here: URBAN LANDSCAPE: Selective focus on the urban chick and how she lives her life. Ever walk around in New York's East Village? Ever take a walk through East Los Angeles? Hong Kong or London? Women are inspired by other women they see every day on the street. Urban women work the unique looks suburban ladies crave. Want to wear the hot gloss and smokin' hot eyes like the hot latinas in East LA? Or the edgy looks of the punks on St. Marks place in the east village? The glowy eyes and cheeks and pale, luminous skin the Hong Kong chicks rock? My idea is for a complete collection based on the look of an individual urban chick. Bright pink and peachy pink glossy lips and dark eyes of the East Los Angeles latina, The dark rimmed eyes, pencil thin brows and red lips of the punk chick from the east village. Hong Kong chick's ideal look: Glowy skin, long dramatic lashes. Each would have a photography "tag" that fits into the Smashbox style. The latina look will be called "Flash Factor" The punk chick "Photo Slave." The Hong Kong chick "Ghost Image" We could use urban environments all around the world and prove that urbanites share at least one thing in common: The desire to be the center of attention. We would include real girls in the campaign from real urban environments, each as an inspiration with their photography "tag" splashed across them, perhaps even painted on them, written on their clothing, painted in lipstick on the mirror they are looking into while applying their makeup or grafittied on a brick wall behind them. The collection itself would start off as a 3 tiered unit with detachable tubes of soft creamy product, each has to be "clicked up" to bring the product up through tiny holes. One tier will have eyes (one tube of liquid eyeliner), one cheeks, one lips (a tube of cream lipliner, one of the real innovations of my idea, applied with a fine tipped doe foot applicator) You can buy the different units and mix and match. There will be different cream products and applicators depending on the "look" Each unit will have a picture of your "chick" on the outside, photographed in her natural habitat as if on a photoshoot. We CAN take the average inner city chick and turn her into a glamour icon, a color superstar.
