As you might have already guessed: my gargantuan ego, but I also figure that if you, gentle reader, spend any of your time reading my rants, which seldom 'pull any punches', you should know precisely who wrote these diatribes. ____________________________________________________________________Basically, what I believe politically: Viable Liberalism Its core beliefs might be ( though not limited to ):______________ - The revitalization of Unions and the Labor Movement, as well as greater support for Employee Stock Ownership Plans. Labor needs to vastly increase its use of the Web. The concepts of the Service Employees International Union's Andy Stern, especially that Labor needs 'a top-to-bottom overhaul' should be studied: http://www.businessweek.com/magazine/content/04_37/b3899001_mz001.htm -_______ Keeping Abortion Legal with a education drive to lessen its occurrence with: a) Bad news/ Good news ( non-Ideological A.B.C. ) Sex Education; b) A massive, constant Letter campaign to Mags such as Playboy and Cosmo to have more ads for Birth Control within their pages. __________________________________________________- Support to re-abolish the Death Penalty, with pre-frontal lobotomies and no-chance-for-parole life sentences in place of execution. ____________________________________________________________________________- Support for a wide-scale public/privately funded drive to get computer desktops and laptops, as well as the knowledge to use them, into the hands of minority and low-income children and their parents. The Voice of Minorities and the Poor on the Web must be greatly increased. _________________________________________- A skeptical, but not contemptuous view of PC as a whole. Certain extreme aspects of PC, however, must be must be fearlessly and vocally opposed. Especially when these aspects endanger the survival of Liberalism itself. - as for Same-sex Marriage ( which I believe is less important than any of the above causes ) : John Kerry's Stance. No Gay Marriage, No Anti-Gay Marriage Amendment to the Constitution and support for Civil Unions. ___________
