Add your note hereObama made the shocking statement that the United States “cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives we’ve set.... we’ve got to have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, and just as well-funded.” Obama has yet to explain what he meant by that comment, how it would be funded, or what the duties of the “security force” would be. It does bring to mind something Hugo Chavez or Kim Jong Il might imagine, however.
Obama mentioned this program in a July 2 speech in Colorado Springs. References to it then disappeared from his official campaign web site. It appears he is going to keep it under wraps until after the election, then introduce it after he is safely ensconced in the White House, unanswerable to the voters
