Books – This is a great book for anyone who was a kid in the 80s. Trek fans might get a kick out of the backstage looks at the Next Gen cast. Me, I like it for the reminder that things really have gotten better since I was a kid, and it's just a matter of knowing where to find the sunshine.

Video Games – Here we have a nice wireless PS2 Guitar Hero guitar for auction up on eBay to benefit Penny Arcade's up and coming charity. News – A journalism professor wrote an op-ed in the LA Times, accusing bloggers of not checking their facts or doing original reporting. One of the blogers he signaled out was Josh Marshall. Josh e-mailed the professor to correct him, and the professor admitted that he didn't include Josh in his article; it was added by an editor. Fact checking, indeed!

Politics – Today, Karl Rove appeared on "Meet the Press." (I thought I felt a disturbance in the force.) During the round table, Matt Cooper called Rove a liar (though he didn't use that term) with regards to Rove's statements on the Valerie Plame affair during the broadcast.

Travel – Measures moving through Congress to mandate better airline behavior have been so weakened that they are almost meaningless. The airline industry, which opposes new mandates, has lobbied with great success. While it can't seem to scare up a bag of peanuts to feed stranded fliers, it coughed up millions to fuel lawmakers' campaigns.

Art & Design – Artist Cayetano Ferrer photographed the trees hidden by a 30-foot wide billboard in Daejeon, Korea and then pasted the image on the billboard. He purposely left part of the billboard white and put that missing piece of the image on another smaller billboard nearby. [via boingboing]
