Author, working odd jobs while writing books. Generally, a nice guy with a wide sense of humor. Also stands for truth, justice, public service, Mom, baseball, apple pie, and the American Way. Did my time in the military as a tank commander (M60, M1, and M1A1) and officer in the Cold War and 1990s. Then later did other public service with a year of teaching "at-risk" youth Government and Economics in a local community National Empowerment Zone AmeriCorps program. Education: Masters degree in History with four (4) foci: US History, Public History, US Foreign Relations, and International Relations. My Bachelor of Arts was also in history, but with a European/Western Civilization focus and a German minor. I have also done a serious amount of reading in and experience with anthropology, psychology and sociology. But do not let the Liberal Arts background fool you. There is also a strong science grounding here. Mom and dad are LITERALLY rocket scientists--having worked on the nation's ballistic missiles in the 1970s-1980s. Dad's retired, but Mom is still working in the government's GPS satellite programs. As a kid, I did the science fair, and won some awards. [Obviously, Mom pushed me and the other siblings to do this stuff.] As a history undergraduate, I still took science classes and calculus. I have worked technical jobs with strong science dimensions in software companies. These days, my best friends are biology researchers. I mention much of the above so that you have some idea of where I am coming from when I make comments. So you know where I come from on justice issues, I'll simply say that members of my immediate family have been victims of several crimes in the last decade (murder, robbery, vehicular assault, verbal threats, sexual assault, false accusations, lawyers seeking "deep pockets"), and we have seen less than ideal responses from our local law enforcement officials--particularly the district attorney offices involved. So I talk from experience on legal and justice issues.
