Born in the late 30s, grew up during the WAR. My first memory of world events was Mom sending me through the lot to tell grandpa that F.D.R. was dead. We went through rationing during the war, and I don't remember anyone really upset about it. It had to be a hell of an inconvenience, but folks got by. My folks home was close enough to the Nevada test site that we would listen to the countdown on the radio and when the count hit zero the western sky got as bright as day. I have never trusted our government since, after watching people I knew growing, up dying of cancer. To this day I believe only what I can verify!!!!!!
