I am an insurance broker, healthcare consultant and political gadfly by day and a columnist for a small New England paper - the New Canaan, CT News Review by night. I try to combine a BA in literature with a warped mind that has been influenced by growing up with three brothers, raising 3 teenagers and reading the likes of David Sedaris, Woody Allen, Bill Bryson and Dave Barry. It is probably too late for me but perhaps after reading these Lessons Learned, it's not too late for you....Enjoy !

Ok gang, which way are you leaning in the healthcare reform debate ? Let's keep it civilized and not show our red necks or our red communist colors. The truth lies somewhere in the middle and requires precision surgery - not baby out with the bath water wholesale reforms and not incrementalism....We need change but we need to attack the cost drivers - disease, inefficient consumption of services, lack of transparency, inequity - - and quit vilifying stakeholders. What do you think ?
