I am 27 years old and painfully disheartened with the current state of affairs in the world. I have written 1 full-length novel (429pgs), titled "In the Shadow of a King", and 2 precursor screenplays titled "Reaper" and "Evolution of an Angel". All of which are based on the outcome of the current events taking place in the world. Action by the people, not inaction, is what led to the freedom of this country. The inaction of the people is allowing what we used to call freedom to be gently taken from our hands without the slightest of complaints. The stories which I authored are not about mass action, but the actions of a few (representing the whole) that save what is left of this nation. My stories are based on very real events, very real places, very real people, and very real plans that are being put into action as we speak. I have dedicated a myspace page to reaching the people about whom I wrote (a group that calls themselves the Shadows). So far, no one has been able to verify their actual existence. At the time I began writing about them, I had heard of a number of silenced, buried events of a band of highly trained individuals who were essentially modern-day Robin Hoods... except they weren't stealing from the rich, they were literally stopping crimes and helping people in trouble. My stories are fantastical, with the Shadows as the primary characters. I don't know if what I wrote about them is true, but from what I've been able to gather, my angle on them is hopeful but so far true (regarding them). In my life, I know I cannot count on a tiny group of solitary fighters to save us from where we are headed. The truth is that we must lead ourselves to stop the tyranny that we are ever so gently being led into. I have a terrible fear for the future, but I believe there is still great hope. If we take action -starting with peaceful action - and make a 30 second phone call every week to our Senators and Representatives, and maybe even the White House, we can at least know that we stood up for what was right when we still had the chance.
