June 29, 2006, 4:06 p.m.It looks like it was shot clandestinely. The videographer does a good move and zooms out toward the end of the video to show us that s/he is videotaping a screen onwhich the video is playing.

June 29, 2006, 6:26 p.m.It's a shame that L. Ron didn't want every one to see the propaganda that it passively poisions with. Unfortunately I missed it, but perhaps my fragile psyche would have been swayed, forcing me to never again have an original thought...

June 29, 2006, 11:16 p.m.It is sad that a cult can convince so many people that they are a real religion. If there is nothing wrong with their orientation methods why would they prevent others from viewing it. Let this be a lesson to others that may be interested in joining.

June 30, 2006, 2:48 a.m.Well, it isn't a cult. Do you know any 'cults' that have over 300,000 members, are present in more than 65 countries, most continents and own most of their buildings rather than using an empty gym or civic center or park?
I'm not sure about many things. But, whether one chooses to be a skeptic because they don't have the sack to go find out for themselves or because they're too embarassed to be harassed by friends/co-workers rather than use the internet for research is the real pycho thing.
I've seen both good Scientologists and bad Scientologists. But, Scientology shouldn't take the wrap for bad Scientologists. Any Atheist, Christian, Muslim or Agnostic is more brainwashed and embodies a sheep mentality than any (good) Scientologist I've met.
Notice the (good). Anyone with education will read that properly. A 'bad' cop doesn't mean all police are bad. Just because so many rappers play up the street 'gangsta" doesn't mean all rappers are criminals.
Just something to think about.

June 30, 2006, 2:52 a.m.I seen the videos a few days ago when they were on Digg. It is some scary stuff
Quote: "You can leave this theater and never mention Scientology again, that would be stupid but you could. You could also jump off a bridge or blow your brains out"

June 30, 2006, 7:12 a.m.I've heard thetruth.org has answers, but haven't checked. Supposedly they use standard brainwashing techniques at first and then start filling you up with all sorts of wacky crap about aliens once you're susceptible. Most members have to go through lots of hard labor, unless they're celebrities who are targeted and treated better because they bring acceptance from the masses who seem to trust celebrities more than regular people. I heard that a lot of hard labor went into building a field of wheat just so that Tom Cruise and his wife could run through the damned thing on their wedding day.

June 30, 2006, 7:40 a.m.So much for thetruth.org or truth.org. Wikipedia has a good article on it, though, stating that the membership may be as low as 100,000. BTW, I also heard that the chef from South Park was forced to resign by the church, and it makes sense: why would he be okay recording the lines for the episode but then balk when it came to playing the episode? I also hear that the reson they hate psychologists is because psychologists can easily recognize the signs of standard brainwashing that goes on in the

June 30, 2006, 10:15 a.m.It's a cult. The Brach Dividians were a cult. (Nowhere near as many members, but they certainly owned there own property.) Heavens' Gate was a cult. Sun Yung Moon's "religion" IS a cult. You have to judge them by what they do. Their actions in the late 1990s in sporging messages on Usenet are enough to indicate they were a cult then.

June 30, 2006, 10:28 a.m.BTW, Issac Hayes left the show, the church didn't force him to do anything.
As usual, the 'quick-fix' mentality of people have gone to a false source, Wikipedia, once again.
Sometimes, that place has good information, but as it is contributed to and edited by anyone who joins, wrong information is repeatedly given.
I've checked on numerous non-related items like Chet Atkins, computer processors etc.
There are probably 100,000 members just in Los Angeles alone!
Go find out for yourself instead of reading something or taking anybody's word for anything.

June 30, 2006, 12:28 p.m.By the way, you can still view this video pretty much anywhere on the net! Just type in "Scientology Orientation Video" in your favorite search engine! Wow! This video certainly explains why Tom Cruise is a nut job! I mean a religion based on the writing of a Science-FICTION writer . . . oh but according to the video (they certainly covered their tracks early)I must be a "Raving Lunatic" to speak out against Scientology! A couple of contradictions . . . At the beginning of the video they speak about how evil the "material" world is . . . but they then proceed to the bookstore where you are told you will probably need to purchase at least 8 books to get started (plus, they show you like five more along the way.) Next, they blast the government as a brainwashing institution and for making Ron's life a living hell. . .one that no other man could endure (a Christian parallel for sure), but yet they use statements from the US Judicial system and the IRS to prove that they are a . . .

June 30, 2006, 12:39 p.m.bonafide religion. Lastly, they claim they are a religion ( Iguess it depends on what your definition of religion is) I mean you probably have to give more money to advance to a higher level to find out their beliefs on creation (although there is a hint of what they believe about the "End of Times" at the end of the video), but at times it sounds like teachings . . .like Confucism. I only say that because the say,"All denominations are accepted into Scientology!"??? And they show a supposed Baptist Minister who enjoys the teaching of Scientology? Weird. Anyway, the end of this video takes the cake. I have never seen an organization go to such links to guilt someone into joing them . . . "Jump off a bridge or blow your brains out"! "Live in shivering darkness . . ." I guess some people need to feel like a part of something really bad!

June 30, 2006, 1:25 p.m.I was driving by Hollywood boulevard, and I think I saw the dudes that videotaped this being kicked out of the scientology center. The had cameras and were talking quite adimantly to the scientology people, who would not let them back in.
Anyway, you can go see this video, free of charge at the scientology center on Hollywood Boulevard in LA. Just tell them your crazy, I mean, interested in joining their religion.
