June 29, 2006, 1:41 p.m.As much as I couldn't stand her (Jones), I think Barbara Walters needs her ego deflated just a bit. Simply because Jones didn't get fired the way Walters would have liked is no reason for Walters to have gone all diva on her. These people all need to chill out a little.

June 29, 2006, 1:50 p.m.Star Jones and Meredith Veira were my two favorites on the show. I feel Star Jones' announcement on television was offensive. The rumors of her dismissal and reasons for it have been going on for quite a while. She confirmed on air that she was leaving , without hard feelings. Barbara was upset because she told it too soon, and felt ABC wanted to protect Star.

June 29, 2006, 4:40 p.m.barbara walters has always been a SNAKE IN THE GRASS & a manipulator. She has to have the spotlight on her allways. Go back to 1976 when she manipulated her way onto "ABC News" with Harry Reasoner who could not stand the best bone in her - commanding an unprecedented $1 million annual salary, which was protested by both Walter Cronkite & Walters’ own ABC coanchor Harry Reasoner. She said that Star Jones had turned off the audience off by her dramatic weight loss & glitzy wedding. To me that shows JEALOUSY/ENVY. As a human being she ought to be happy that Star is intelligent & decent enough to be conscious & concerned about her health & , & she took action to control her weight. Some people love to have glitzy weddings & some people love to elope. I guess they wish to see every BLACK person pushing dope & hanging out on street corners. This is now 2006, times have changed & the younger generation of BLACKS are changing the scenery, & you just have to accept it

June 29, 2006, 4:44 p.m.When Star got rid of all that weight, too bad it went to her head! I don't feel sorry for her at all, she brought it on herself. Good she's gone!

June 29, 2006, 5:39 p.m.I'm not a big fan of Star Jones but the way they when about letting her go was wrong. They only did this because of Rosie ODonnell saying she wouldn't come and host the show as long as Star Jones was on it.
I know one thing I definitely won't be watching The View any more if Rosie ODonnell is on it. I would prefer to watch Star Jones on The View, over Rosie ODonnell any day.

June 29, 2006, 5:46 p.m.Star Jones is a fur wearing flea bag and I am glad she got fired because she has no regard for the welfare and pain suffered by the animals she wears.

June 29, 2006, 5:51 p.m.Star has been with the View since it's inception (9 yrs.)and they're bringing Rosie in and not renewing Star's contract? What's wrong with this picture? As far as Barbra Wah Wah feeling betrayed, what was wrong with Star getting something that was no doubt weighing heavily on her. She's the one that should be feeling betrayed. Her weight loss and wedding should have nothing to do with nothing.

June 29, 2006, 5:51 p.m.Can't stand Rosie - won't watch anymore - but not a fan of Star's either - I was just waiting to see the "black" factor come in. Why is it when anyone is fired it's because they're BLACK - enough already. She wasn't hired because she was black, and she wasn't fired because she was black. She was fired cause people are sick of her arrogant persona and diva mentality.

June 29, 2006, 5:59 p.m.I'm so glas she's gone. I can't stand her after she lost all her weight. I liked her better when she was fat.

June 29, 2006, 6:02 p.m.Why should anyone even care? A group of over paid, over rated, over the hill talk show hosts having a daily coffee klatch, discussing inane and totally useless subjects.

June 29, 2006, 6:12 p.m.Barbara Walters needs her ego put in check, bring in Rosie what a joke. She have some nerve talking about star's weight, what about her own.

June 29, 2006, 6:31 p.m.I'm not a fan of Star's, however, I am glad that Star stepped out on her own and took matters into her own hands and did things on her own terms. Seems as if Barb's not use to people going against what she tells them to do. Star cut the strings. No need to play Barbara's puppet. Also, I know I am just putting myself into a trap but to the person who posted the comment about playing the race card, why even bring it up if is not a factor. Comments like that were unnecessary and irrelevant to what happened.

June 29, 2006, 6:58 p.m.Star was great and spoke her mind. That was her downfall Baba Wawa only wants the presentation of self supporting propaganda for herself and the media’s position.
Barbara Walters came through the Manchester, NH Airport one morning and barged to the front of a long line of passengers waiting to get their tickets demanding to be given immediate attention asking the very nice Airlines Representative “Don’t you know who I am?†The Representative person responded with such poise and reserve “Yes, you’re the person at the end of the line!†At which point Baba Wawa walked out, to the din of the clapping passengers. Baba Wawa is a nasty woman that we all need to be inoculated against her. The inoculation will be called the anti WAWA Vaccine.

June 29, 2006, 7:39 p.m.I sent this to the View.....I cannot believe how Barbara is acting about Star's resigning from the show. By adding loud mouthed Rosie you all were asking for it. We don't believe for a minute that anyone expected Star (or anyone) to stay. You keep advertising the success of Rosie's show to justify adding her to the cast. Rosie's show attracted a totally different segment of the population. Jerry Springer had a more popular show than Anderson Cooper...Hey, lets add Jerry to the CNN news!!!! It makes about as much sense. I have talked to 11 people who watch the show and NONE (lesbians included) plan to continue to view the VIEW!!!! I never even liked Star but this ordeal has placed me on her side AND Barbara has shown a petty, creepy side...Cooked your own goose, Barbara!

June 29, 2006, 7:41 p.m.To Jessy...
I don't think that race was an issue here - I don't know why everything has to become a race issue...that has absolutely nothing to do with the entire situation if you read the story. Barbara Walters was being her typical greedy self and didn't like when someone else was getting the attention. That is the bottom line.
