She says "I prefer a firing squad, but I'm open to a debate on the method of execution. A conviction for treason would be assured under any sensible legal system. "

Our country absolutely cannot bestow upon the New York Times the right to be final judge and jury about what should and should not be classified "Secret." To do so makes a complete joke out of the government's information classification system.

What the Times has been doing is indefensible and treasonous. Ann Coulter is right on target.

Ann Coulter should be forced to walk through Iraq wearing a sandwich board that states:

I SUPPORT THIS "OCCUPATION" STARTED BY THE LIES OF MY PRESIDENT AND WILL FIGHT TO THE DEATH MY RIGHT TO DEMAND ANY ONE'S DEATH WHO DOES NOT AGREE WITH MY FORM OF FREE SPEECH!

      How long would she last?

You are all nuts. Every last one of you.

Isn't it treason to release the names of undercover CIA agents? What about holding prisoners against the Geneva Convention? NYT was doing its job. Its the gov's own fault that this information was leaked.

babyphil, much to your dismay, not only is she correct, she has been correct all along on this. The NYT editors and journalists have committed treason, as someone who has served in four wars, been overseas both for OEF and OIF in the past five years I can only say that Ann Coulter speaks for the silent but very real America you are clearly not a part of.

Does Ms. Coulter seem a little strident to you? She doesn't seem balanced in her perspective at all to me. She doesn't say anything about Karl Rove and Dick Cheney outing Valerie Plame at the president's request. She was an undercover CIA agent at the time and THAT, ladies and gentlemen, is treason.

It's instructive to remember that Ann Coulter is the Fair Haired Gal of the Republican Right Wing. You remember... those are the people in power in DC right now, the ones running our government currently.

I've always believed that you govern to do the most good for the most people. This tack on governance is lost on the GOP at the present time. I hope in the fall they receive a rude surprise at the Ballot Box... across the board.

I've never voted straight party in my life in a general election, but I'm voting against ANY Republican candidate on the ballot. It's definitely time for a change. I don't think the Dems could screw it up any worse than it is.

Been there. Done that. Santa Monica is a very nice place with a beautiful pier. Or at the Chicago end, it has a very classy art museum.

I don't quite understand how this has anything to do with Ann "I Blow The President Every Chance I Get" Coulter. Her oral work leaves something to be desired. Like intelligence.

Freedom of the press is part of a democracy, and no matter what mossback and a few Cheney-like clones believe, an important part of keeping our nation free.

It's high time the press actually did their job (it's taken them, what? five years to finally wake up and quit kissing G.W.'s ass and do some reporting?!) and bring to the fore the misdeeds of the current administration.

I'm sure you two characters were thinking the press was just fine when all they wrote about was the sexual hijinks of the former Clinton presidency.

I find lies and abuses of our constitution a bigger threat to democracy than the so-called "treason" the NY Times reported on.

Treason is a crime punishable by death, always has been. Granted it isn't administered nearly enough. The reason the punishment is so great is because many people (mostly our own)will be at least hurt and in many cases killed as a direct result of this kind of behavior. Where do you think Al Qeida gets it's news? It sure isn't Al Jazeera or "Baghad Bob". Through out history Presidents have had to be tough during times of war because the national interest is best served by that. That includes Dems and Reps. We don't know everything they do and we shouldn't.

If anyone needs to be shot it is Ann Coulter. Here we have the dumb right wing screaming shoot the messenger, again. If it was so top secret then the papers would not know about it. If it needs to be kept secret it would not get leaked. It is called invasion of privacy and it is unconstitutional. The people in charge of these acts are anti-American and need to be shot. Or deport them to a like minded country, like Iran.

If it is just her joking to get press, well she has no sense of humor. She should be telling racist jokes like the rest of her party. One thing you don’t know about Ann is that she is a lawyer and not a journalist. So with that in mind, what do you call Ann Coulter dead in at the bottom of a lake? “A good start.”

I truly understand satire, but ethically Ann Coulter is not worth the time and effort of reading. As a writer and author myself, I must adhere to some form of ethics. However as Ann has readily committed violations of this, she has no right to comment on society. Anyone who steals from other authors and does not give credit to comments and quotes within her writings/books deserves to be ignored. She has no ethical boundaries like many who's views are extreme.

It is the extremists that have been the downfall of this country whether right or left. Because of this, the United States is in great danger. I pray for my country every night, but those who listen and abide by extremism will further bring the ideals of the constitution into jeopardy. This country was built on democratic principles which it appears the right seemingly want to abuse and the left was to use for their convenience.

Extremists like Ann Coulter need to be ignored.
