Maybe all it means is that Mel Gibson flew in.

Please let me be the first to say that there WAS in fact a blackout, albeit only an hour or so long, on the Upper East Side of Manhattan this afternoon 6/27/07.

It's regrettable that more people cannot remain levelheaded during these brief moments of inconvenience. Too many people around Yorkville seemed unable to contain their anxiety, and seemed compelled to make up stories on the spot - "I just heard that the power won't be back on for over a week!" These types of baseless comments only annoy others.

It's a good idea to remember that during these (extremely infrequent) times to remain ultra-cool and detached while walking around your 'hood. Try to remember that we've gotten through much worse, and around the world people have things much much worse on a regular basis.

Why? Because eventually when the blackout end, an hour or a day later, people tend to remember who the 'wussies' were who were spreading rumors and they tend to be shunned thereafter....
