Sept. 11, 2006, 3 a.m.I was at work. My father flew from Boston to New York that morning and we didn't hear from him until later that evening. It was probably the longest day of my life.

Sept. 11, 2006, 3:12 a.m.I was in bed, in Alaska, when the first plane hit. I then went to school and all my teachers had the news on through out the day.

Sept. 11, 2006, 3:24 a.m.In my apartment, having just moved in that week-end. I was sleeping on the living room floor and that morning, having turned on the TV, saw the plane smashing through the WTC. A very eerie day in San Francisco. No one at that time knew, I guess, of the repercussions of this fateful day.

Sept. 11, 2006, 3:33 a.m.I was in school. I didn't hear anything about it till 11:30. The principle called over the intercom asking for a semi-lock down of the school. No one told us what was going on. One guy in my class said that a plane had hit the World Trade Center. Later, on my way to lunch a friend told me that a plane had hit the Pentagon. The rest of the day the teachers wouldn't tell us anything, we weren't allowed to turn on the TV's or ask questions. There was a panic going through the students. We were wondering if anything else could be hit...including us! When I got on the bus that afternoon we found out that the middle schoolers where allowed to watch the TV's! When I got to my grandparents house I was glued to the TV until my mom picked me up. My granddad sat with me the whole time. I found out later, that at the time I was the exact age he was when Pearl Harbor occurred. That night, my parents and I watched the TV until we couldn't keep our eyes open any longer.

Sept. 11, 2006, 3:59 a.m.That was the day I was to begin rehearsals for the play I was directing so I had spent the entire morning working on the script etc. and hadn't turned on either the telly or radio. After lunch, I turned on the telly and was immediately confused by what I was watching. There was the mayor of New York in front of a huge clock, with a huge number of people and nothing was making any sense. It was another twenty minutes before I realized I wasn't watching a bad made for TV movie, that this was real. Then I realized I had been standing in my living room, looking at the screen and hadn't moved at all for the entire twenty minutes. The next moment I was on the floor and I stayed there until my partner came home and found me. We called my actors and everyone wanted to get to work on the play, but we worked in a haze and ended early to return home and CNN. The play opened in November to excellent reviews and we had bonded for life.

Sept. 11, 2006, 4:24 a.m.I was in the hospital waiting for my second child. I didn't know about it until I saw on the TV with my wife and my second son. So I'll always remember the exact date of this incident. It happened that my third child also born on this date but only different year. What a very memorable date for me, my family & the whole world!
Now, I'm thinking of putting the photo of my two special kids on my blog/website (www.ringgithit.com).

Sept. 11, 2006, 4:56 a.m.I was in my 7th grade art class on Camp Lejuene, North Carolina. I remember we got to class and the teacher turned off all the lights and then turned the TV on. Because we were on a military base, they made us go home and we couldn't leave our houses for another 12 hours or so.

Sept. 11, 2006, 5:25 a.m.I was home in bed asleep. I live on the west coast and it is three hours earlier here. My son came in and woke me and said Grandma was on the phone and that terrorists had flown a plane into the World Trade Center. As I was on the phone talking to my mother and watching the television, the second plane hit. I remember feeling like I was watching it in slow motion. It seemed so unreal at first. It was difficult to believe that this was not a movie but a live newscast. We were all shocked beyond belief.
Another date that will live in infamy, to paraphrase FDR. Another day to remind us to watch our backs. Also to remind us that terrorists don't play by the rules; don't tell the truth; don't abide by peace treaties; are cowards who hide behind women and children, etc. They don't care who dies in order to achieve their objectives. They seem to be sociopathic, psychotic and fanatical. And those are their good qualities!

Sept. 11, 2006, 5:31 a.m.I was sitting at my desk looking at images on Renderosity.com and was about to post one of my own. Then my mom came into my room and told me a plane hit the World Trade Center. From there on we watched it all unfold live....I will NOT forget! Nor will I forgive!

Sept. 11, 2006, 5:37 a.m.Alexandria,Va a few miles from the Pentagon, I was outside when the plane hit the pentagon, and heard the boom. We could see the smoke from where we were at very clearly for days afterwards. I remember being scared to drive home that day with my wife, the boss had let all of us leave early. I rememeber having to cross the Woodrow Wilson Bridge (according to the radio media it was targeted) to get back to Annapolis, Maryland. Military planes flying all over the place, the local radio media making it sound like there was more to come. A plane was spotted crashing near the Whitehouse according to the radio media, fires all over downtown it was pandemonium. Scary stuff. Ultimately most of what the radio was saying that day in DC, did not happen.

Sept. 11, 2006, 5:44 a.m.I was at work in Arlington, VA in a building that overlooked the Pentagon. All of us at work, stood by the windows watching in horror at the thick cloud of smoke rising from the Pentagon. The PA system suddenly announced that we were to all vacate the building immediately. We were all standing outside the building with nowhere to go as the subways and bus system were shut down and all roads to Washington DC and towards the Pentagon were closed to traffic. But in this chaos, people came together to help each other as drivers stopped by a crowd of strangers on the sidewalks and offered rides to wherever they were heading. In this way, I was able to get to my car parked at a subway garage miles away. I then turned around and went back to Arlington to offer rides to people to wherever they needed to go.

Sept. 11, 2006, 6:12 a.m.Well I was in the process of getting my diploma from RETS Institute of Technology. I seen when the first plane hit the first tower. I immediately called my mother and told her about what had happened and she turned on the news. After the initial shock of what took place, we were released for the day to go home and be with our loved ones. We will never forget those that parished on that day and will always be in our thoughts and prayers.

Sept. 11, 2006, 6:13 a.m.On Christopher street in the village on my way to work at NYU. Luckily I wasn't at home, which was two blocks from the world trade on Chambers Street. I didn't see my home for a week, when I did I had 10 minutes with a National Guard to take an elevator running on CNN's generator (they were using the roof of my apartment building) to clean out the fridge, grab some personal belongings and water the orchid. I stayed in Brooklyn for a month waiting to be able to move back in.

Sept. 11, 2006, 6:41 a.m.I was at work, in Balitmore, MD. My boss was such a prankster that we didn't believe him at first. I will never forget that I was wearing a t-shirt that says "Bomb Technician, if you see me running try and keep up. I had a spare shirt I kept there in case I had to leave the office and go to a customers office for a trouble call. Needless to say I changed the shirt.

Sept. 11, 2006, 6:51 a.m.I was at work standing next to my radio during my first break.I went and grabed a co-worker as this had just happened with the first plane.A few of us had gathered around and heard the news casters as the second plane hit.Horrified and shocked,how could this be happening to the U.S.?Yea I had worried about being attacked but not like this!People need to look in deeper through the internet as too what really happened that day.Who really attacked us?

When the first plane hit, I thought it was an accident. When the second plane hit, I knew it was not.
I was asked to fly to DC and NY on September 13...

Sept. 11, 2006, 7:02 a.m.I just happened to turn on the TV at almost exactly 8:30 am (CDT) right before the second tower was hit. I felt a mixture of shock, sorrow, and anger all at once. At the same time I was in a sense of denial that this could be happening.

Sept. 11, 2006, 7:12 a.m.I was moving into my first apartment after being sidelined for two years with panic attacks. The cable guy was scheduled to come at 9:00, so during the attacks I had no television or radio. My phone wasn't working, either, so when the cable guy came at 10:00 he told me what had happened. He had family in NYC, and was so distraught that both of us just watched the TV for an hour after he hooked it up. I went to NYU and knew many of the victims. Needless to say, I had to move back in with my parents as my panic attacks returned and continue to this day.

Sept. 11, 2006, 7:29 a.m.I was in the classroom with my middle school student. I had to watch it from another room because the other teacher in the classroom thought that the Special Ed kids would have a hard time understanding and would get paniced. The other teacher was also having a hard time because her brother was in New York. And another brother was in Pennsylvania and she didn't have the details of the plane crash there. It was a very tough day for everyone

Sept. 11, 2006, 7:30 a.m.I was in the car in the parking lot of Waldbaum's food store. With my girlfriends 2 year old in the back seat singing, Ring around a Rosy. The radio was telling about the 1st then 2nd plane crashing into the Towers. I remember
thinking, that behind me in the back seat was such sweet innocence and in front of me from the radio was such evil.
I was wondering how do you go from being such an innocent child to becoming someone that can be so evil. That you couldn't possibly have had love in your heart at anytime in your life and turn into someone that is capable of trying to destroy other peoples spirits,hopes,dreams,and families.
