Sept. 20, 2006, 2:07 p.m.Not to be cynical but if we check with Horatio in a couple of years, he will be playing the best friend next door in sitcoms. Isn't that what happens to all ex-SNL stars?

Sept. 20, 2006, 2:45 p.m.Thank goodness--he was the worst cast member in the history of SNL.
Never understood why they hired him in the first place.

Sept. 20, 2006, 2:50 p.m.Woo hoo! I agree w/ garbow1. He was literally the worst member of the current cast. I've been rooting for his departure for quite some time now. He just wasn't funny--and he ALWAYS messed up his lines (dude, you have cue cards!). Kudos to SNL for trimming the fat from their cast (honestly, no pun intended. Okay, maybe it was)! We'll be seeing you Horatio...wait, no we won't.

Sept. 20, 2006, 4:53 p.m.Let's face it, SNL sucks now. It's not even remotely as funny as it used to be. Shame such a great show went down the tubes.

Sept. 20, 2006, 5:39 p.m.I have to agree. SNL is at it's lowest point ever in entertainment value I believe. When you have shows on MTV and VH1 that have more comedic value than the "standard setter"..... you are in trouble. If it went off the air.... would anyone really miss it?

Sept. 20, 2006, 7:01 p.m.Thank god. This should have happened years ago. He is one of the only fat commedians who isn't funny at all.

Sept. 20, 2006, 7:05 p.m.I think SNL's commedy level usually follows the trend America follows. Early through mid 90's tended to lean more liberal so we got a lot of funny shows that a lot of people considered objectionable (such as Married with Children). But we have shifted a little more to the conservative side now (at least with network television). That is why more conservative type funny is acceptable (such as Everybody loves Raymond). If a guy went on television and attacked fat people on a weekly basis such as Al Bundy, the show and network would get canceled/sued. Cable channels tend to not follow this trend.

Sept. 20, 2006, 7:12 p.m.Not to be gender biased, but I did notice the show first started to suck when Tina Fey became the head writter.

Sept. 21, 2006, 8:21 a.m.I totally disagree that the current cast is the worst in years; I think they're actually the best in years. Will Forte and Amy Poehler are hilarious. Even the four featured players (esp. Andy Samberg) are actually incredibly talented and have a young, quirky sensibility that the show desperately needs. That's awesome news that Finesse Mitchell is gone now too, he was utterly useless and probably as bad as Sanz. However, it's HORRIBLE news that Parnell is leaving. He was hilarious and will be sorely missed. Too bad Darrell Hammond couldn't have left instead. His and Samberg's Narnia rap was gut-busting. Now, if they could only drop Kenan Thompson and bring back Tracy Morgan...

Sept. 21, 2006, 9:26 a.m.I dont think its been funny since around the time Will Farrel left. Not saying hes the reason why, just giving a reference in time..
i likes Heratio, him and Jimmy Fallon were always funny when they were together on screen, even though they both just laughed and acted stupid

Sept. 21, 2006, 9:47 a.m.They've got some great talent, but the writing has been unfunny for the last 2 seasons or so. Maybe things will pick up, now that Fey is out of the picture.
