Tim, just been off phone with unamed Airforce Officer, too many questions to be answered. Assured no stone will be left unturned.
The plane was not on FAA Radar -
The was not tracked by the Airforce -

Oct. 11, 2006, 3:36 p.m.From that MSNBC item:
"NBC's Jay Blackman reported it was a fixed-wing aircraft operating under visual flight rules, which means the aircraft did not have to be in contact with air traffic controllers."

Oct. 11, 2006, 3:38 p.m.Does the fact that NORAD was not tracking them mean anything? Or do they not track a plane if they have radio contact and flight clearance?

Oct. 11, 2006, 3:40 p.m.Thank you Tom, hope this is correct.
Smokey - was my thoughts too, just the military are mixed emotions sadness and anger, which is very human, due to 9 11.
Nevertheless at same time Airforce is in Air Patrols as precaution.
This assures the folk on Long Island the Military has area secured.

Oct. 11, 2006, 3:57 p.m.There aren't too many planes on the East side of the city that I catch regularly, and there are some on the Hudson side of the city, but not randomly this low, so this seems a little bit sketchy. Out of control is always a possibility, but I'd be really curious to find out where this plane came from, once they get an idea of whose it is, exactly.

Oct. 11, 2006, 4 p.m.I thought NYC was a no fly zone? It will be intresting to see if this plane got into restricted air space, with seeming ease?
I can't validate my statement is fact, if anyone has better info on the no-fly zone area I would appriciate it.
