Does the fact that NORAD was not tracking them mean anything? Or do they not track a plane if they have radio contact and flight clearance?

Smokey - was my thoughts too, just the military are mixed emotions sadness and anger, which is very human, due to 9 11.

Nevertheless at same time Airforce is in Air Patrols as precaution.

This assures the folk on Long Island the Military has area secured.

There aren't too many planes on the East side of the city that I catch regularly, and there are some on the Hudson side of the city, but not randomly this low, so this seems a little bit sketchy. Out of control is always a possibility, but I'd be really curious to find out where this plane came from, once they get an idea of whose it is, exactly.

I thought NYC was a no fly zone? It will be intresting to see if this plane got into restricted air space, with seeming ease?

I can't validate my statement is fact, if anyone has better info on the no-fly zone area I would appriciate it.
