I am in favor of executing these predators. They are worse than terrorists.

I don't understand why these "people" are let out. They are NEVER rehabilitated. I agree with saneman... these people should be put out of OUR misery. They do horrible things to children and yet we give them a smack on the wrist and release them. They are put into protective custody in the prisons, away from the gen. pop. I think that they should be put in the regular area. Let the other lifers set them straight and save us alot of money. Maybe if we put them in g. pop the rate of sex abuse to children will drop. Maybe if the offender sees what their punishment will be, they will think twice about touching a child inappropriately. I believe in second chances.. let the lifers get theirs!!

Remember the old Western stories where they said: "Around these here parts, we hang horse thieves." The horse, of course, was very important to those folks and their economy.

In the 21st century, these newer concepts are things that are important to people today in our economy. Should we, when it comes to those misusing and abusing our communications systems, "hang 'em high?"

Under no circumstances do I condone the actions of these low life Rock Spiders. However, I am against capitol punishment no matter what the crime.

For these repeat offenders I believe that chemical castration is in order, thus taking away the urge.

Offend once, go to jail.. offend a second time and you lose 'em.

              theemu,

I respect your opinion about capital punishment.. However, chemical castration is not guaranteed. They have to be given shots or take pills daily. This is Depo-Vera shots. This is also not permanent. From wikipedia:

Large doses are required to be effective in men. Most men will receive 400mg to 500mg per week, equal to 2.5 ml in each buttock. In some cases, men given oral doses as high as 700 mg/day have still reported regular sexual arousal and fantasies.

Trust me, if they don't molest the children, they will kill someone else. From experience with Depo, I was angered easily (seeing red!!) and had myself taken off. The rage involved is unbelievable. Granted, that was my experience.. I'd hate to see what these levels in men might do..

Still think we should put them in g. pop. That will solve our problems. Then WE aren't giving capital punishment.. the inmates are. They have their own rules inside, ya know.

ain't that america? kill the bastards. this is our solution to abuse? why do we NEVER as a nation attempt to find a cure for something other than the symptoms? abuse is 90% of the time a generational or inherited thing. children who are abused become abusers. is there any thought at all to trying to figure out why this happens? apparently not --they should just be killed. abuse is a complicated cycle. one which none of you seem to consider so.

For sex-offenders there should be a one-strike law with respect to minors. In other words: One sex-crime conviction and you're in for life. No parole. Ever.

We can free up prison space for these predators by re-visiting so-called "three strikes" laws that often put petty criminals behind bars for life, for example, for stealing a pizza. We need the room for sexual-predators because if they know they're going to be in prison for life (and will probably be killed in jail, quite frankly) that will act as a big deterrent.

Myspace fosters this kind of thing. I had a membership for while, and without any action on my part, was being hit on my all manner of bots, shills and predators. It was creepy. I'd never let my kids dwell on this.

I can definately see your points but that, nor anything else will see me change my mind on capitol punishment.

I can only guess the torment that molestered kids must go thru. Absolute misery Id bet. If anything had of happened to my 5 kids when they were growing up or any of my 5 grandchildren today, believe me when I say, the perp would not have to worry about what happens inside jail... he wouildnt get there.

I agree with the obvious consensus that these predators are pathetic, sick twists. I wish I had the answer. Execution, castration (chemical and otherwise), intensive therapy, anti-psychotic drugs. All of these and more come to mind. Never in a million years would I offer a whiff of defense for these wastes of skin. I do have to pause and ponder, however, that the very victims of these crimes, the children, can often, as a result of their abuse and trauma, grow up with tendancies to themselves abuse others. How is that cycle ended? Through psychotherapy, drugs, imprisonment, or a 9mm bullet?

Isn't it patently obvious what's going on here? It's that damned George Bush & Co. If he didn't have gay people on his

staff, it never would have happened!!!...wait...Barney's wrists are limp too...never mind....

I just wonder what is so attractive about abusing a child that

draws these people out and cause them to take ANY chance at getting one alone? That tv show that entraps them on the chat rooms is so obvious, yet, they catch their quota every week -

the urge must be like a drug or something...and they should know by now the police are usually that cute 10 year old they're trying to seduce over the web...what the hell...they're sick and should be put out of their misery...

no cure for their 'disease' except death...let it be!!! Take

some drug dealers/users with you...everyone complains if one of these freaks grab a kid, but what if it's the parents using drugs or alcohol and verbally/physically abusing their

own babies??? Shouldn't they be identified too???

While I'm on the subject...what is the cutoff for the gay lifestyle, where he's a 'predator' if the child is under the

age limit (probably 18) and gay if he/she is an 'adult?' Why

would a sicko be called a predator for abusing someone 'not of

age' and get jail time/chemical castration, etc...but when the

same child reaches a certain age, this same sick predator is

'gay' and the government wants us to act as if they're 'normal' and praise them for 'coming out' and want them to be

married just like normal people? I know NAMBLA wants an open

season on ALL children, and we allow them to exist...are they

gay or predators if they call it 'love?'

Thanks, Gordon. And we're certainly in agreement about the latter part. If I knew a child of mine had been victimized, nothing could stand in my way of pulling the guilty party apart with bare hands.

I don't think that anyone under 18 should be allowed to join myspace. I'm 24 and my wife and I enjoy the site quite a bit, but we're adults and have a bit better judgment when it comes to shady characters. Of course, banning minors from myspace would have a hugely negative impact on the massive ad revenue the site generates--teens account for the bulk of the ad targeting I'd think.

Also, I have heard that sexual predators can never be reformed despite counseling, medication, prison time, religious conversion, etc. And castration doesn't work because taking away the predator's libido wouldn't cure the mental disorder--a molestor has more than just a sexual urge to abuse children.

In my opinion, there should be MUCH stiffer penalties for these criminals. If you look at your state's sex offender registry, you'll find it's common for an offender to have 4 or 5--or more--convictions of gross sexual assault, many on minors. And they're back living in society, ready to assault again.
