Nov. 5, 2006, 1:29 p.m.He should have told the truth instead of doing all that lying. Lying only makes things worse. His wife said in her letter to the church that she is going to stay with him till death do us part. Good luck to them, they are going to need it.

Nov. 5, 2006, 1:33 p.m.Look at this the head of one of the largest evangelical churchs around and his group probably helped vote bush in. These hypocrites scream immorality..yet their own leader is in league with the devil.
im glad these hardcore bible thumpers are just as immoral as everyone else around.
suckers!!!

Nov. 5, 2006, 6:19 p.m.Blargg:
It may have been said wrong, but anyone with any common sense could look at that man and know there was something wrong with him.
He has a sinsiter look about him.
People should follow God not a man and a lot of these people followed the man not God!
Is this another of your feeble attempts to exonerate Bush, as he has already lied as well in denying knowing Haggard?

Nov. 5, 2006, 6:49 p.m.More misininformation from Repubs? Please show me evidence that he supported Kerry in the 2004 election?

Nov. 5, 2006, 6:25 p.m.This guy supported the Democrats in the last election. So your statement really doesn't ring true, BUT it is exactly what the Democrats want America to think. Christian public figure = Republican = Bush. So this guy was gay because of Bush in a lot of peoples minds. This has nothing to do with politics at all. It is about 1 man and his lifestyle. Doesn't reflect on any political party at all.

Nov. 5, 2006, 1:35 p.m.I am so glad that this came to light. It is the ones who scream "faggot" the loudest that have something to hide themselves. Finally, people will see that not everyone who throws stones is without sin.

Nov. 5, 2006, 3:33 p.m.I do speak from experience. As a gay man, it is disgusting to me that someone who is causing so many people to spout hate and ignorance is the subject of that hate and ignorance. Be who you are because one day, your lies will come out. To paraphrase the martyr Harvey Milk, when we all come out, all of the myths, lies, and hate will be destroyed forever.

onedropwas4me
Nov. 5, 2006, 4:16 p.m.I'm against gays but that is not to say that I am without sin. We all have sinned and come short of the Glory of God.
There is none without sin but we strive from day to day to learn from our sin and not to repeat it over and over again.
God Bless

Nov. 5, 2006, 2:10 p.m.How does it taste, CryBaby?
You now know what it means when a pillar of your ideology gets caught tongue deep in hypocrisy and deceit.
He was untrue to himself, and untrue to his parishioners, and apparently untrue to you.
Ouch, that must really sting.

Nov. 5, 2006, 2:48 p.m.Hide the facts as long as it reflects badly on a repub, hide it if it makes a repub look bad, hide it under a Bush. You can't hide from God, and you, being the Good REpub that you are, should want these things exposed.
LMAO @ Good Repub, NO SUCH THING!

Nov. 5, 2006, 5:15 p.m.not2needy,
I don't doubt that you feel that what you are saying is true. I submit that there are good Republicans who do not hide the facts, even when it indicts their own party.

Nov. 5, 2006, 3:42 p.m.Stop being a Crybaby. All I can say is that I am ecstatic that this is my first pinned submission- you should be thanking Fabienne.
Lets not forget that these characters are probably some of the people Bush consulted before declaring war on Iraq.

Nov. 5, 2006, 1:36 p.m.The congragation is entirely too large to notice. This is one of those mega churches.
If your religeous I would stick to small congragations where it's possable to have a personal relationship (appropriat one) with your paster.
The pasters in these big churches have too much power, and absolute power corrups absolutely!

Nov. 5, 2006, 1:44 p.m.Sanchu, everything in the world does not start and end with the President of the United States. Why make such a silly remark? And as a matter of fact he supported Kerry!
Everyone, pastors, preist, no matter the role they play, everyone is just human and sin. The problem comes from followers putting too much value on a mere human. Get your eyes off men and look to God.

Nov. 5, 2006, 1:55 p.m.hahahaha... can't help laughing. There goes the leader of 40 million Americans. Hypcrite he is. What are they going to do about him. I don't think anyone can charge him with any crime. Can they? Now take this as a lesson, do not follow anyone without know what kinda person he/she is.
What's Bush's opinion about this? This guy is the closest advicer isn't it? I think we have the right to know what this hypocrite was advicing Bush about.

Nov. 5, 2006, 2:10 p.m.Haggard for Kerry! LOL that is funny..
I just can't believe you guys don't remember the election..Bush was practically anointed by god according to this guy.

Nov. 5, 2006, 2:12 p.m."Ted Haggard, the head of the 30-million strong National Association of Evangelicals, jokes that the only disagreement between himself and the leader of the Western world is automotive: Mr. Bush drives a Ford pickup, whereas he prefers a Chevy."[

Nov. 5, 2006, 2:14 p.m."All indications are John Kerry doesn't know we exist," Haggard said. Despite repeated attempts to contact the candidate, "his campaign won't respond to us. He has snubbed evangelicism. He uses populist language to convince people he will help, but he's really just an old-fashioned, big-government man."

Nov. 5, 2006, 2:43 p.m.I could look at him and know something was wrong with him, he has a crazy look about him.
Then after all the interviews of him swearing that he only bought meth, but threw it away,(MY GOD) and never knew that gay prostitute!! Now admits to it all.
I hope no and i mean NO repubs ever mentions, 'i didn't enhale' to me ever again.
METH! A devils drug, and gay!! And the Christian advisor to the president, GOOD GRIEF repubs, isn't that enough to turn your stomachs?
-

UpRtCitznBrigde
Nov. 5, 2006, 2:45 p.m.People who use meth are into some really wierd sexual stuff. Im sure what is guy is saying is not only true, but probably toned down quite a bit. "butt bumping" is seems to be irresistible to gay speed freaks. They actually put the stuff in a enema and do it rectally before sex.

Nov. 5, 2006, 2:44 p.m.As a Democrat and human being, I don't revel in the fall of any human being. It's a tragedy, not only for him but for all the people around him, including his wife and children. It isn't the details of this that are important, it's that morality is not the exclusive territory of any one group of people. Christians are no more moral than Muslims, nor are their beliefs more righteous. Neither are "pro life" advocates more moral than "pro choice" advocates. It's just their beleifs, neither more righteous than the other. It is the claim to righteousness that is the hypocracy, no matter who makes the claim.

Nov. 5, 2006, 5:56 p.m.. It's a tragedy, not only for him but for all the people around him, including his wife and children.>>>>>
The tragedy is what the man, and his followers, have done to homosexual people with their condemnations. People should try living that, every day of their lives. I've no sympathy for any of them, excepting his children.

Nov. 5, 2006, 2:54 p.m.I should add, the magnitude of this man's hypocracy is huge only within the context of this particular set of circumstances. Within the greater context of all human hypocracy, mine and all of yours...every single one of you, it's a tiny spec.

Nov. 5, 2006, 2:55 p.m.This guy was calling Bush every week to talk about God? Didn't Bush say he decided to go to Iraq after consulting with God. Was Haggard high on meth, bent over advising our President to take our country to war?

ThePromisedOne
Nov. 5, 2006, 2:56 p.m.This is a bit surprising to me. This man seemed to be so passionate and very religious. Before this i dont think anyone would have pointed the finger at him. I have seen him on the history channel when they would do programs on religion he would be interviewed. It is amazing to me i thought that once someone excepts Christ they become a "new creation" once they have turned to Christ they are forever changed. Before his conduct with this man i am sure no one could doubt that. It is a shame. He would boast about having the holy spirit in him and casting out devils and demons. But Jesus says in the bible that even fake Christs can do that to even decieve the very elite. I guess miracles are not a test of true prophethood but the teachings of the prophet are what counts. Glory be to God almighty and God alone.
-

ConquerorWyrm
Nov. 6, 2006, 2:12 a.m.I really hate to tell you this, but making a racket out of religion IS the oldest profession in the book. Pick any of them, past or present...Pat Robertson, Jim Baker, Jimmy Swaggart, Orel Roberts, James Dobson, Robert Wildemon, Jim Jones, Benny Hinn, Aimee Semple McPhereson, Jerry Falwell...and you will, out of all the combined sin (either apparent or not) and the varied personal flavors of sin (again, apparent or not, or in some cases, quite apparent), the one which binds them all is the love of Mammon.
And then there are those who either believe devoutly in the incorruptable nature of the spirit they feel or those whe need someone to lead them, the sheep...
These shamans know this and they trust in that blind faith in the goodness of one who professes Christ or the gullibility of the sheep to set up shop.
Any church which has enough money for a state-of-the-art temple is a church not focused on the mission of Christ

Nov. 5, 2006, 2:56 p.m.Maybe I'm just a bad person but I loved hearing his apology. I thought it was hilarious; it actually made my breakfast taste better. How could such blatant hypocrisy not be funny. And as far as feeling for the good Rev. Don't feel too bad, there are a lot of gay drug addicts, He will get by. He should kick the drugs but stick with the whole gay reverend thing, its very hip!!

Nov. 5, 2006, 3 p.m.what else is new? Haggard, a gay basher is caught with a gay man...ooops.. a gay prostitute in bed. hahahahahh...Rush Limbaugh, the loud mouth was high on drugs all the times when he was spreading conservative!! values and trashing every body who differed with him. Bill Bennett another pillar of religious conservatives who made his living by giving speeches for these crowds, the types who fall victims to Haggard, Limbaugh Inc. he was telling them how to live their lives in dignity and bla bla bla ...it turns out the big Billy , when not giving those speeches, was a one armed bandit; a high stake gambling junkie. Hahahahhahahah...How about the crowd itself? they are instructed to oppose abortion and love wars? If the same baby gets killed in a war , they are instructed to release a relief mechanism by screaming :collateral damage...and so it goes....

Nov. 5, 2006, 3:02 p.m.Who feels bad for the guy? You should feel bad for all the people he lied to and hurt.
Hey, what happened to the Secret Service. They let this lying drug addict get close to our Pres.

Nov. 5, 2006, 3:42 p.m.The President let this lying drug addict close to the President. This was one of his advisors. Don't blame the Secret Service for George's bad advisory choices.

Nov. 5, 2006, 3:58 p.m.He is not the only lying ...who made it to white house....How about Jack Abramoff? He did not sleep with gay prostitues (or did he lol) but he was no better than the met Rev Haggard, that is in Ethics department..Anothern DEAR POSSESION of conservative folks!!But if you really want to make the whole thing a bit simpler to understand just remember how Bush himself got into the white house? Remember Florida? the count, recount, supreme court judges? thousands of democratic leaning voters who were declared criminal and therefore were prevented from voting in Florida? Bush promissed to bring DIGNITY to the white house and he cheated his way ....DIGNITY caravan did not stop with him, then it was Haggard, Limbaugh, Bennett, Abramoof just to name a few..

Nov. 5, 2006, 3:18 p.m.Actually nobody can find a clip of Rush Limbaugh speaking disparagingly about drug addicts after the surgery that started his drug addiction. And everybody knew Bennet liked high stakes poker, he never hid it or preached against it.
-

Nov. 5, 2006, 4:22 p.m."And everybody knew Bennet liked high stakes poker," Oh no ..I appreciat the spin but Bennet was a one armed bandit, meaning he loved those slot machines,, and it was not quarter slot machines ..that would not satisfy the beast inside..it was hundred dollar and higher slot machines..I don't know where this poker thing came from. It is a fact that when Rush Limbaugh was preaching conservative values!! he was flying high...way high...he was a drug junkie who was preaching conservative values after taking couple of pills here and there. Is being high on drugs, breaking the law and doctor shopping campatible with conservative values that you can so easliy shrugg it off? Hey did you know the man who created this Limbaugh fiasco, I mean his manager ..was an in-closet gay? who died from HIV? all this time Rush was trashing gays and what have you. But then again some people have a high level of tolerance toward hypocricy. My tolerance is about..hmmmm..let say ZERO.
