Nov. 22, 2006, 10:09 p.m.I want to have an open mind about this, but I saw 'The Wiz' and that was a pretty disapointing "reimagining". You know, there are like 20 Oz books that are stuffed full of wierdness and adventure that the 1939 classic never touched on, there's no real reason to do what Sci-Fi is doing, why not just make some of these other books?
And a Wizard Of Oz without the scarecrow? Gimme a break.

Nov. 23, 2006, 10:23 a.m.Let's wait and see what the creators have in mind. 'Somewhere Over The Rainbow' has been done by Judy Garland, Ray Charles, Sarah Vaughn and The Ohio Players. Each one puts a unique touch to the song and each one is a classic in it's own right.

Nov. 23, 2006, 4:33 p.m.The book was and still is a classic. The 1939 movie is another story. It was and still is an abomination of Baums original work. This is going to be a retelling of the story, not the movie. And for those who can not fathom the creation of a new movie, get over it, and go read the book instead of watching your beloved movie over and over.
