June 9, 2007, 3:12 p.m.When people read a story like this, if they read one like this and they are overweight they think, what does that matter, I'm fat sure, but I don't feel that bad, theres lots of skinny people out there that are in worse health then me. Sure there are, but trust me, once you get past thirty your weight does matter, alot! You get to a point where you no longer maintain your weight, but start gaining, you feel tired, going for a walk is something you'll put off, "oh I'll go walking tomorrow night" "I'm going to start eating better next week, I never like to start a diet or anything on Friday" "I'm going to join a gym next month, money's short right now" Excuses are all fine and dandy, trouble is the only person you're hurting is yourself. And yes I've heard the "Its my body, why are you worrying about it, it has nothing to do with you" "If you don't like the way I look then turn away"

June 9, 2007, 3:19 p.m.But it shouldn't be of any matter what a person really looks like, it's how they are. It's like buying a house you're going to live in for the rest of your lives, you need to think if I live to be eighty do I really want a house that has three floors, all those stairs, and trying to go up them at eighty. The same thing with weight, at twenty even though I was overweight I still felt good, I could walk with the best of them, now at fourty it's not the same, my joints hurt, my feet hurt, I'm out of energy, out of breath and I feel like crap most of the time. A doctor said to get out and walk, get some exercise. Only problem is my back and all the afore mention things hurt and keep me from it. If you're young and you're overweight loose the weight now, don't put it off til you're 30 or 40 thinking it doesn't matter, people should love me the way I am. They should, but YOU need to love you too. Don't lose weight for them, loose it for YOU!
