Which God? Budda, Brahman, Jahweh, Allah? There seem to be a lot of choices.

There is certainly much truth about this being an overly materialistic society / world. Whatever God we worship, we should care and do more about those who lose out in the race for more material goods. Be it socialism or capitalism, or some combination therof, we can't leave so many people behind and still have a just society.

and for your comment on society..if you are talking about american society..it is perfect. people profit through how much work they put in. it is as simple as that. albiet there are acceptions, and some people are unable to work, society is a get what you give thing.

I have noticed that when most people follow the "actual teachings" of their religion (even those who say they do not believe in any god, but themselves & only believe in treating others as they want to be treated) tend to want peace & good will toward all!

Regardless of the religion, or lack thereof, when a part of the holy book is taken out of context, we can and often do get a little hell on earth!

Since the Major Muslim clerics have made public statements that terrorism is AGAINST the Koran, that is nothing but premeditated MURDER. That Int'l Terrorism is not a holy war and those who participate will go to the bad place & not the good place!

Just think if the media would 24x7 these statements, most terrorists would stop NOW, and few would join!

We could have a little of the Peace on Earth & Goodwill toward man that we hear so much about at this time of the year!

Come on media, do your job & help stop the death & destruction!

      -

What you all don't seem to realize is that the "End of Days" has come and gone.

What we are experiencing today is simply the internal dialogue that naturally occured when you were all still alive!

The specific date of the Rapture occured on this day: January 20, 2001.

Yes, that's right, the day George Bush was sworn in as the First Born Again Christian President of the United States of America.

On that day, Conservative Christians were Swept Away into your own Heaven.

Godless Democrats were condemned to ruling a Secular America.

A land devoide of Christmas - and replaced with the non-denominational, all inclusive, yet vague sense of Holiday.

How we pity, (and yet pray for) you.

      Bless You!

And as always, I encourage you to watch Kenneth Copeland, we left him on Planet Earth to serve as a beacon of salvation for each and every one of you long suffering people.

One thing I can say for you Godless Democrats - you did not suffer bloated egos. Of course, this was a mixed blessing for you.

If you were more 'full of yourself', you too could have walked around saying things like -

"if you don't believe like we do, you will be going to hell."

Only someone with very large (you know what) could say stuff like that.

That's why you Democrats are still among the living - running the show, as it were, in our heavenly absence.

      For Jesus said:

"Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the Earth"

Of course, without us, I don't see how you shall have much fun.

      God Bless.

Oh Good grief! As far as I am concerned is this- I take no more credence than that child molesting advocating misiogynist in the Vatican has to say than I take any credence in what's in any tabloid near my local supermarket check out!

I flatly refuse to listen or take to heart anyone that endorses the molestation of children and allows pedophiles continue to prey upon and be sexual predators where children are concerned!

Oh! And Goopy, you are NO more meek than Charlie Manson was ever sane! Perhaps if you read the scripture you would be aware that Christans are supposed to be ambassadors for Christ...says so in 2 Corinthians...Does the Bible NOT say Judge lest thou be judged? For your information I AM a God fearing Registered Deomcrat voter- have been for twenty years now! And you have NO right to make blanket generalizations- makes YOU look like a jack ass and fool! In short- take care of your own, if you did, you'd NOT have time to belittle, castigate and condemn others!!!

The only world leader I've seen in rags was Castro! Another bigot you! Anti-papist, anti catholic bigot at that! You and goppy are both off your rockers. Your sentiments only show the hatred in your hearts. The two of you are so full of it you don't like each other. Blessings to everyone on this day whether or not you are atheist, Christian, Jew, Moslem or believe in poly-theism. You are all children of the creator.

RELIGION would be a fine attribute within mans society but how many have died in the belief that their faith is supreme. Hunger, war, death and misery within the context of human societies has almost been associated with Religious zeal. Now the question of hunger. Abortion is wrong right, especially when the religious abhor the notion. But why increase human population for future starvation and misery all in the name of religion. When will some righteous humans look at all facts and repercussions before denouncing those who condone common sense and morality. The so called moral majority have many hidden agendas that the will not acknowledge to the detriment of human evolution.

If you are following the Golden Rule then the Pope has nothing to do with whether you love him or not...loving our fellow man is a statement and duty imposed on the one who loves not a characteristic of the one being loved. The Golden Rule has to do with unconditional love. Thus, how "lovable" the Pope is or isn't or how many people love him or don't says nothing about him..but it says something about them...lol.

As for whether is makes people mad or not...making them mad or happy isn't his responsibility nor is it in his control to make them one thing or another. I don't say that because I'm religious...it's a fundamental tennant of believing in free will.

I am glad to see that the Pope is putting his perspective across on a very delicate subject, which he does well and then quite rightly leaves it for the individual to make his or her mind up on the subject - this is the way it should be.

I myself believe in all realigions and the existance of life within the numerous planets (7000 plus). Personnaly i am disheartened at the current state of the World and hope the next 10 years will show vast improvements - more accurate reporting by the MEDIA will help this tremendously

Maybe someone should tell the Pope of all the gold in Vatican City, all of the master paintings, all the gold urns and that the dome of Notre Dame is painted in 24kt. gold. Just think of all the good things that could come to children if he would start giving himself, for words alone do not satisfy the soul when it needs food for nurishment, strength to carry on.

In his own way, I thnk the Pope means well, and is very intelligent. However, that is not good enough in a world with as many problems as ours has, and his mindset limits what he can see. We should be glad he is even trying, since he has the power to influence so many people.

We have so much to thank the Catholic Church for, the Crusades, the Inquisition, Witch Burning, inspiration for the rape of South America and the destruction of the Inca civilisation, helping Nazi's escape after WW2, daft birth control edicts keeping poor people in poverty and helping the spread of Aids, inflaming the rift between Christians and Moslems etc. etc. it just goes on and on.

Whilst I bear no malice against Chatholics in general I wouldn't give the Pope or the Catholic Church the time of day, its just an out of day power base which has no relevance in todays world.

Ratzinger speaks as chief propagandist and "ruler for life" of the Roman Catholic church alone and for no one else. Being charitable and helping the poor and disadvantaged is everybody's responsibility, across the board. The various religions simply split up humanity and engender most of the atrocities commited in the name of some God.

We need a savior who can save humanity from theocratic dictatorships and dogmatic morality preaching that has no regard for real human suffering such as Piergiorgio Welby's plight.

The Pope is doing his job remarkably well. What is his job you might ask: to take a stand on moral issues. Not to make a profit, not to secure the borders of a country, etc...but to sit down, be knowledgable of, study and take a stand on moral issues. Seeing as Christianity is a freewill based religion he doesn't even have to be right...we are each responsible for our choices...No, he doesn't even have to be right, he simply has to take a stand...and spark humans to think about the right and wrong of things...as we are here. Imagine a world bereft of people who do this job. Imagine if everyone simply stopped thinking of moral and ethical issues and did things simply because they can. The East largely sees free will as a mistake...take Islam for example. But in the West we believe free will is a gift (unless we are behaviorists)...so given that we COULD sink into choosing barbarism as the means of meeting purely hedonistic needs, someone needs to do this work.

                        "Pope: Worship God not Technology"

I wonder what kind of controversy Pope would create if he dared to say "Worship God, not religion". If people followed his advise, then that would put him out of business! Ironic, isn't it? Too often many "religions" almost seem to make themselves out as bigger than the "God" they claim to be following!

{{n his address, the Pope also made a reference to the controversial case of Piergiorgio Welby, a paralyzed Italian man who was denied a Catholic service because he had asked to die.

                          "What are we to think of those who choose death in the belief that they are celebrating life?" he said.}}

Unbelievable! From within his posh mansion of gold, this 100 year old relic can sit in judgement on someone in real physical and emotional pain and deny a sinner Catholic service. Hypocrite!
