Dec. 31, 2006, 11:12 p.m.great now we are going to have more grandparents raising grand kids because the parents can not earn a decent income alone. this will only tear the families(after a divoce) and the economy.

If a society has LESS children then it definitely will be overwhelmed by old folks needing social programs and fewer workers to keep the economy going, as well as pay taxes. If people don't or can't have children then the society will die out. If immigration is proposed as a solution, well, yeah, you'll have more workers but you'll wind up changing the society. Which is good if you're one of the immigrants; not good if you love your people and want to see your society continue.
