Jan. 8, 2007, 1:07 a.m.Did anyone ever believe the Dems wouldn't take the money from your pocket? There is no tax the Dems don't like. They tax and spend. Much of the spending is to buy votes. There is still a telephone tax paying for the Spanish-American War of 1898!
They will try to convince the lower income people that they are soaking the rich. But who pays your wages? If they have less money, they hire fewer people. When the stock market falls and unemployment goes up, they will blame the Reps and their policies. Anything to avoid facing real economic facts.Then they can expand the government give-away programs to buy votes. What is bad for the country is good for the Dems.

Jan. 8, 2007, 2:48 a.m.If they have more money, they'll also hire fewer people, Taganan. There were plenty of layoffs in the name of "remaining competitive in the global market" during the '90s boom.

When you have "tax and spend" Republicans (like Stevens from Alaska?) in the crowd as well... better watch BOTH sides of the aisle!
