O'Reilly, Colbert to Trade Appearances »

Posted by: TechnologyExpert 2 years, 10 months ago

It may feel like looking into the mirror for Bill O'Reilly and Stephen Colbert next week. The Fox News Channel host and Colbert, who has essentially based his comic character every evening on Comedy Central on him, will trade appearances on each other's programs Jan. 18.

The 18th is a Thursday, which is the last show for Colbert that week, so viewers would have to hold their anger over the weekend. Colbert probably figures they'll calm down over the weekend. :-)

The "NO SPIN ZONE', I was an avid watcher but his arrogance and the title was in truth the "SPIN ZONE".

Reminds me of Mr. Rush Limbaugh who's still out there spinning a yarn about VALUES in America. Have they no shame?

But, I still enjoy catching him lately, watching him altering his position on Iraq by semantics. He know's he is in a difficult and unsustainable position about Iraq but Spin is Spin!

Gotta agree with loverman...except the part about having an admirable view on his prowess. Arrogance is easy when you screen your calls and cut off any derision or criticism. That which he does allow through is only to serve as the butt of jokes with his finger on the button to selectively let the antagonistic caller be heard. Yes, I've listened to Rush. I listened to him back before he sold out to Papa Bush...remember back in the day when he went after Papa Bush?

My main problem with him is, outside of his arrogance (very unchristian trait), his hypocracy. He advocates the death penalty for folk like you and I who choose a non-addictive, biblical repast. He rails against the ACLU with every breath. Then, when he's popped for SERIOUS, DEADLY DRUG ADDICTION and DOCTOR SHOPPING (which would get you or I many years in the IronBar Frat House, he has the ACLU defending him and yet he still calls for criminal sanctions against you and I.

Besides, his music sucks compared to RUSH.

Take it from someone who has listened to way too much Rush, he is an egomaniac, a blowhard, and everytime his facts are questioned his listeners fall back on the fact that he is an entertainer not a journalist.

Those like Sithlord have made Limabaugh a very rich man. But I ask you? What has this man contributed to society? What has he done to make America a better country?

I suggest he has done nothing more than forment hatred between the left and right. Turning his listeners into automatons filled with hatred for those who think differently. Sure there are idiots on the left but they are also on the right. Rush just puts his blinders on to those people. They don't fit his agenda.

He decries the intelligentsia yet he claims to have all of the answers. Does that not make him part of the intelligentsia? Sheer hypocrisy. Check his record on Iraq, his bleeting agreement with Cheney and the like. Sure Rush is right, keep drinking the Kool-Aid.

Hey, is that you posting again, Rush? Or a salesperson?

I've listened "too" (excellent spelling and grammar throughout your entire post) his show, and it seems that he and his ilk (or like-minded cronies, as you probably don't know what the word "ilk" means) are ignorant trailer trash. Rush is a pompous, self-righteous hypocrite--not to mention a poorly disguised Oxy addict--and anyone who thinks for a second that he promotes intelligent, worthwhile (for anyone other than his undereducated fanbase) "CONTENT" or free thought of any sort is truly defunct.

There is much value in listening to him for those of us who are too stupid to think for themselves or find comfort using someone else's opinion as a crutch, a substitute for forming their own. Limbaugh is almost as full of hate and ill intent as much as he is full of sh*t.

And PLEASE don't just type back that I'm just a typical "lib." I'm actually a staunch MODERATE who thinks for himself.

                      Sithlord007, your reputation preceeds you, am I talking to an underage minor? If so, please wait a few years and then I would love to respond to your inquires. Now if your mother has given you permission to read the following;

Yes, I have already listened intensely to his verbal abuses, like O'Reilly on Fox.

Your protege, Mr. Limbaugh is a hypocrite, he professes ultra conservative views but he fails to obey the same views expressed. The excuse defense is rampant in America, he's a druggy that shamelessly gets a pass while a person in the lower rung of the social ladder gets jail.

I am very happy for you in having such an outstanding model of citizenship to look up to.

O'Reilly is gonna end up coming out of this looking really bad. Colbert is gonna play him like a fiddle. Then, when (if) O'Reilly realizes it, he's gonna use his show to make himself look even worse trying to get back at Colbert for Colbert holding the idiot mirror up to his face.

Colbert? He's gonna come out of this even stronger than before. Ya gotta realize, he's making fun of the Splotchy One on his show, each show. It's schtick.

To try to fight that the way he does imaginary wars against pagan holidays usurped by Christian imagery and the silly, whiney way he looks trying to take down MSNBC...you know, how Olberman pins El Splotcho almost nightly...will drive his ratings down even further. This man's career is on the Geraldo Express...

Just wait and watch...I have faith in O'Reilly's arrogance and ego...he will not fail me...

O'Reilly will get his hat handed to him, because Colbert is so much smarter, but no matter...O'Reilly has been taking hits from so many news sources and Fox's ratings are declining so fast that there's not much else he could do but try to stir up some excitement. Did you see Colbert recently present a framed picture of O'Reilly to the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard? He will play off O'Reilly's ego like Fred Astaire dancing.

Speaking of which, we should arrange a show with O'Reilly and Keith Olbermann...now that would be a grudge match.

Bobcat6 gives Republicans a bad name, people like him are the reason they lost the congress.

If anyone thinks Bill O'Reilly is "fair" then you're completely blind. Pay attention to how often he attacks the left and how often he attacks the right, a little disproportionate dont you think?

Hey bobcat6, Cindy Sheehan's son was killed in Iraq, do you know what that feels like? You're calling her a nazi for being outraged and protesting a war that got her son killed?

Most of America is purple, not red or blue. And as long as the Republicans keep spewing out ignorant morons like Bobcat6 the Democrats will remain in control.

It is not about politics it is about compassion for other human beings' loss, which we American have forgotten about.
