..but he did have a few good songs -- even if the Queen overlooked him for Sting (gasp!)

  Stewart is a business man, with some good simple pop songs, Heart Ache for example. Sting is a great musician and song writer, his police stuff is amazing, and his solo career afterward ....great stuff. I think the queen got this one right. I saw Sting in concert recently, as well as Stewart, no comparison. Sting is a great man, Stewy is a business tycoon.

Saw Rod Stewart in concert back in the 70's in Tucson...He was jumping around and fell over one of the speakers...Everyone thought it was part of the show till he got up and blood was coming from his leg, on his beautiful White outfit...He took just a few seconds and wrapped the white sash from his neck around his knee area.
He looked sexy back then ....Now he is looking like he needs to just sit back and count his money...and kids...

The original video for that song showed him wearing shorts (or miniskirt?) and black fishnet stockings. Add that to his trademark wild hair, large nose and rugged face, and you end up with a sight that is not only "unsexy", it is absolutely abominable!
However, it's always fun to hear that song again.

I find it harder every day to figure out which headlines come from the Onion. This one seemed like an obvious contender. But no, it was legit. I suppose Rod the Mod felt a little embarrassed singing "Do Ya Think I'm Sexy" at age 62--as if the rest of his set consisted of songs about back pain, male pattern baldness, and Viagra. Maybe he'll still do "Hot Legs" as an encore.

The Chinese must be about the most intelligent people ever. A Chinese man who came to the US and lived with a friend of ours as an exchange guest had his request for an autograph from Rod Stewart and Madonna rejected. The man held his anger back especially when Rod Stewart in New York at the time uttered an ethnic insult which the Chinese understood.
Today he is responsible for at least 10 million Albums sales in China to Chinese, Europeans, South East Asians, Americans and others each year for which he pays no royalties. And yes Rod Stewart and Madonna are both his products. There is both a loophole in the law as well as a drive in the man to succeed.
Movie and Pop stars are overrated, unnecessary and overpaid. The young man remains a great friend. He has no fear nor any love for the kind of adulation we continue to dish out to these loafers like Rod.
he had no formal education and was the child of peasants. Says a lot about us and our entertainment industry and laws.
