Good this creates jobs for rescue personnel, snow plowers and utility workers.

People can create their own cottage incomes selling snow shoes kerosine heaters and loaves of bread.

It is true, Bush cannot protect people from the common elements.

We had ice storms in PA about 15 years ago and did just fine without Homeland security and fema.

Maybe Bill Clinton was doing something right. I was on the same line as the courthouse and hospital so I did not have to do without power for long.

This is a huge cold front. We've had snow covering our city, along with ice that can't melt because it.s too cold, for more than four days, and I live near Seattle. 18 degrees greeted me the other morning, and my daughter found 16 degrees icing everything in S. California. Two weeks before Christmas we had a wind storm that put more than a million people in the dark, followed by temps in the 20's, with some people left without power for days. Never saw such crazy weather.

Better watch out for the bird flu while you're at it then. The first clue is that you are suddenly afraid of cats and you have this urge to go out and poop on someone's windshield! Go see a doctor immediately before its untweetable!

The weather patterns do change and it causes some "different" type storms. I've been sitting in the middle of this one and it is somewhat different for sure. We have had three waves of storm. What hit here in north OKC has been sleet. Freezing rain has been to the south and has caused more damage as best I can tell from the TV. That area has the power outages, due to limbs. It was only a few years ago that it happened much the same to the same area. Just now had begun to look normal.

The strangest thing about the sleet has been that it is like very round pellets. It acts like sand since it stays frozen. When you walk in the deeper stuff it flows like mud or loose sand. It squishes through and flows around tires rather than compacting like snow. Of course it is very slick. Of course tomorrow with a little melting it should then get extremely slick when the sun goes down. I am glad this occurred on a long weekend as that may keep the accidents down.

You're an idiot if you believe everything you hear in the news. We don't have enough data to prove that this "global warming" isn't natural. We only have enough historical data of the last 200 years, if that. And it has been proven by looking at the Vostok Ice Core in Antartica that the globe goes through series of high temperature and "ice ages." Geographers and Geologists call these series interglacial and glacial (respectively). So, who do you believe Gore? or the facts?

PS: CO2 and CFC's aren't helping but they're not hurting as much as we think.

                  periwinkle,

Where have you been? One important note alone stands to reason on global warming, glacier melting, polar bears going on the endangered list...I was in Alaska just this last year. You can see first hand global warming is occuring, causing bizzare weather patterns, globally. Not just here in the US..

I have said this in most topics that are about Bush and people get mad saying it's off topic. Meanwhile I'm just saying that him taking steps in saving the world Global Warming is more important than his plans with Iraq. A lot more important and that's why that yes it is important to have a president that believes in it. We're all gonna die with this guy in office but not from terrorists. Yes they're a big problem but Bush needs to realize they aren't the only problem... That is if it's even terrorists on his mind and not just oil between his ears.
