Jan. 17, 2007, 1:28 a.m.It's about time that the worlds oldest profession be commemorated in the form of a bronze statue. When will they erect a statue to the Johns.

Jan. 17, 2007, 12:54 p.m.I was just about to say that the statue should be of Dubya and VP Halo Burton. Then I see that this is a clothing optional statue! Yuck! Those two are still trollops though.

Jan. 17, 2007, 1:24 p.m.Oh yes, I love it. Amsterdam is my favorite place to go window shopping. I hope none of the shoppers over there try to sex the statue. Well unless of course someone has a camcorder nearby.

Jan. 17, 2007, 2:23 p.m.Oldest profession yet illegal in most of the U.S.
Legalize, tax money for our bankrupt treasury.
legalize, health regulated, with less veneral diease & Aids.
Legalize, the police could spend more productive time for
actual crime.
Legalize, Pimps would be out of business.
But NO, our corrupt politicians have to show that their moral standards are on the high ground so their electorate gets bamboozled. Meanwhile politicians, lawyers, doctors and every other profession plies the trade under cover. What a hypocrisy we have. Even televangilist seek out these supposed immoral prostitutes.
Give me a break and allow the oldest trade to prosper, they are and will anyway!

Jan. 17, 2007, 2:45 p.m.I think they should erect (ahem) a statue of a condom.
Then they could do one of a big joint (sort of like the Washington Monument, when you think about it.)
But seriously, Amsterdam is one of the best cities to visit. I spent hours walking around the city in the middle of the night, and nary a threat anywhere. The women were very friendly, even to my female companion, although most of them state and advertise that they are completely heterosexual.

Jan. 17, 2007, 3:26 p.m.I don't know about the prostitute thing but I sure wish I was there right now in one of the coffee shops. that reminds me, those prostitutes have it so much better than the ones here in the u.s., if someone treats them bad they press a button in their room and it calls the cops. is that unbelievable or what

Jan. 17, 2007, 3:43 p.m.it wouldn't surprise me if Amsterdam's president sleeps with prostitutes. It seems quite normal over there.
