Nothing says belonging like a ruptured spleen.

      What a wussy!

No, really....When I joined a fraternity, I did everything like I was supposed to do, but I sure as hell did not allow anyone to hit or physically abuse me.

This is Bush's fault. Soon every corporation in America will have these hazing ceremonies and people will participate.

        Doggie dog, mean, psychopathic society.

Sounds like they took it a little too far, but how many of us men have horsed around a little too much and someone got hurt?

This is male-on-male S&M for the so-called straight set. Just like college girls end up having lesbian adventures out of experimentation, this is the male equivalent. I stayed away from this stuff. Just darn weird. Fueled by overdoses of cheap beer. Binge drinking is, and has always been for losers...

That sounds more like a gang initiation than a hazing.

I remember a 1965 Mad Magazine "Life in Collage" drawing series, in which they showed the perceived and the actual. Hazing was perceived as a kid blind folded carrying an egg in a spoon. Reality showed kids in executioner hoods holding red hot pokers heading towards a pledge tied up and screaming. This type of "fun hazing" apparently is nothing new.
