Jan. 18, 2007, 10:11 a.m.She's a fool. She and the entire right-wing have been wrong in everything they've done. The best thing that could happen is that the Isrealis and Palestinians really want to end the conflict, then the peace deal could be a reality, but not because of the administration's efforts.
As for Iran, the administration made their huge blunder whent they refused to improve relations with Iran immediately after 9/11 and included them in their Axis of Evil. This illustrated just how clueless the right-wing is about the world of dilplomacy. As for the allegations that the Iranians are working to develop nuclear weapons, well, we talked to the Soviets throughout the Cold War and so we should talk to Iran now. The stabilization of the Middle East relies on the region entering the dialog, not in American belligerence.
The right-wing are just plain stupid. There is no reason to leave them in control.

Jan. 18, 2007, 1:44 p.m.oh PULEEZE! She had nothing to do with it. Any fool can see that the ME is on a precipice, and these people want to survive, at the end of the day. This administration has completely ignored that region, until now. Her running in their to 'save' the is ridiculous. Her administration contributed to the mess!!!

Jan. 18, 2007, 8:16 a.m.My problem with Condi Rice as Secretary of State is that she's been long on promises and short on results. I see nothing in this story that would change my position.

Jan. 18, 2007, 1:14 p.m.Condi called the slaughter of civilians in Lebanon the "birth pangs of a new middle east". Peace is clearly NOT her goal.

Jan. 18, 2007, 1:47 p.m.HOW is she doing a 'great job?' By kissing Saudi Arabia'a ass? Trying to convince people like you that Iran is the bad guy, when al qaeda came from the Saudi's, and Saudi's are in Iraq helping the Sunni's...KILL AMERICANS? You have GOT to be kidding! But sadly, you aren't!

Jan. 18, 2007, 9:48 a.m.What kind of diplomat refuses to talk to anyone? I thought we were mired in Iraq. So her focus is Israel and Palestine? She's out of her league.

Jan. 18, 2007, 10:34 a.m.If the Palestinians are looking for US to help solve the Israeli- Palestinian problem; it is like looking for Satan's help, Arabs are the biggest fools, if they believe the Americans to do something against the wishes of the Israelis, the Americans, and the Israelis are working hand in glove, how many times have the US used her veto power against the UN those resolution which condemned Israel, Israel is always above the law like the US, the United States is the enemy of the Muslim world, second only to Israel. America will do everything to strengthen Israel in the region, no matter what party in power, they are all the same, what a waste of time.

Jan. 18, 2007, 4:21 p.m.Daylight----your words on solving the Israeli-Palestinian problem are definately the words of an Islamic radical. Everything against the US. I would be careful if I were you. You too can be investigated.

Jan. 18, 2007, 10:39 a.m.LOL...what else were they going to say: "Excuse me Miss Rice but let me share with you my plans to pretend to want peace while working multiple covert alliances with tribal factions in the Middle East with the intention of using but outmaneuvering them for total domination of the region and sucuring my syndicate's interests."...lol. Islam is a religion peace...once everyone is subdued under one ruler there is peace...it's the subduing part before peace and the relentless tribal deceits that are the problem...lol.
"Miss Rice, we want total peace derived from our total and benevolent dominion over the region. Please understand, Arabs are an unruly group and we may need to slaughter 10s of thousands of (fill in the blank; Jews, Sunnis, Shiites, Kurds, Turks, Somalis, Ethiopians, Afghans, Chechyans, Russians, etc...) to achieve our blissful vision."
LOL

Jan. 18, 2007, 10:42 a.m.I give Condi credit for her education and accomplishments, but please she's nothing more than a puppet who echoes what she's told to say. She has no idea's or thoughts of her own and basically from what I see from her I don't see much.

Jan. 19, 2007, 4:57 a.m.That has to be the most uneducated and pathetic line of garbage ever uttered on this message board! You are out of line and likely so arrogant that you dont see how idiotic those statements truly are. Maybe we should see how many bodies you have in your own closet eh? I am guessing you are related to the Manson family...am I right? am I right?
I do agree however that most politicians are shielded in their little worlds, but also have access to info we never ever see.

Jan. 18, 2007, 3:27 p.m.I've sort of noticed a cycle to this never ending saga in the middle east. Bad violence and terror for awhile, then it seems that everyone gets a little tired of all the death and destruction so there is talk of a settlement for a while, then the horror wears off and we're back to violence again. If we had just spent all the money we blew away (literally, in some cases) in this region and BOUGHT everyone there a house, a car, and their own well, there wouldn't BE a damn problem, would there? Between Bill Gates and Warren Buffet this problem could be SOLVED. Just send in a big fleet of moving vans and move everyone to somewhere nicer. It shouldn't be very hard to find someplace that would qualify. The U.S. could then BUY the entire area and turn it into vacation timeshares. And Casinos.

Jan. 18, 2007, 4:15 p.m.yes there would.if you loook at who it is who is stirring things up as well as who is strapping on bombs its the affluent and educated.doctors, engineers, laywers, ect.these are people who could pay for anything they want over there.this isnt about money, houses ,food water ect.they belive that killing you will get them 70 virgens.that killing you will help bring the end of the world.this is a holy war for them.they want to bring about the second comming.this wont happen till the whole earth is muslim.this is what they belive.the reason why it settles down for a while is so they can rearm and rebuild in order to attack.this is what diplomicy is to them.its to buy a little time to allow their plans to come to a boil.dont get me wrong they would take the money and settle down for a while.. till they spent it on more bullets and bigger bombs

Jan. 18, 2007, 6:28 p.m.This may be another example of good news, but.. I only see Rice saying its been fruitful. Progress is just keeping people from killing each other over there. I think other administrations have done a much better job of that. As for this I will wait for concrete results, not just her say so.
