Jan. 21, 2007, 1:10 a.m.They probably the ones that have the money to buy them because it sure isn't the insurance companies pushing the buying and selling of illegal organs.

Jan. 20, 2007, 2:52 p.m.This is just sick. Grandmothers selling their own grandchildren to be harvested! I would rather die first! The degeneration of this world is beyond measurement.
The children of this world are our future. They should be treasured, but no millions are killed for a kidney or an eye. This is just sick and anyone found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt should be executed. They are a waste of air and space. How anyone can be so cruel is uncomprehendible!

Jan. 20, 2007, 4:34 p.m.Its shameful that people are paying to have children kill. Everyone - especially children have the right to live, its just immoral to murder innocent lives for financial gain. Knowing that this problem exist shouldn't the UN (Humanitarian affairs or human rights)or even countries do something about it? Also Parents/people in general, adoption agencies and hospitals could have made this difficult for this to happen if they are strict on adoptions and donations. I also wonder how many organs went to waste because they are not compatiable with the reciever/ or even the reciever dying because there's something wrong with the organ. Just hope this article can bring attention to the crimes being commited to children all over the world and teach us to question where sources come from.

Jan. 22, 2007, 11:59 a.m.I agree, just hope that they can do something about it before it gets even worse... can it get any worse.

Jan. 20, 2007, 6:15 p.m.OMG! This is terrible.
Are people made aware of where the donors are from and from whom?

Jan. 20, 2007, 6:48 p.m.It seems like a lot of this could be avoided if it were legal for ADULTS (ie 18 ) to sell their own organs. There is obviously a market with larger demand than supply.
The organ donor program, while once a safe and useful tool, has become bogged down and there needs to be another legal safe way to help fill the void.
Unfortunately in our letigious (American) culture I'm sure people would try and sue for damages resulting from any complications down the way.
Man, sometimes people just bum me out.

Jan. 20, 2007, 6:49 p.m.People who knowingly buy these organs after the child has been murdered are extremely selfish. What right do they have to end someone else's life to make their's happier?

Jan. 20, 2007, 9:10 p.m.I hear you, Yes, one of the reasons why America is hated so much, because being exploited for the benefit of an American child.
The Trafficker isn't hated, it is the child who's life is saved is the one who is hated by the third world.
There is something seriously wrong with our medical system when we dont know where an organ comes from. The doctors know exactly what they are doing.
My cousin and my niece were in a car accident, my cousin, has an affluent mother, my niece, was all but homeless, they sustained identical injuries, but had different doctors, my cousin had active treatment, my niece was put in a waiting room and left to die. I know he made a ton of money with her organs.
He even had the audacity to yell at my sister for asking him how she was doing. "Jessica isn't going to make it, Get used to it!!!" She had never been exposed to any information anywhere leading to that in 2 weeks that she laid in the hospital. He yelled at her because of his guilty concience.

Jan. 21, 2007, 8:12 a.m.You brought attention to something very interesting, why is it the DOCTOR gets the money for the organs and not the family of the deceased??

Jan. 20, 2007, 8:33 p.m.One thing I would do in the US is the mandate that all organs may be harvested upon death unless you've specifically opted out. Even then, once you're gone, perhaps you've given up the rights to the husk that you've left behind.
I'd like to say that "I can't imagine how someone could do this..." but, in truth, I can. Nope, not for me, but if I saw my beautiful little girl dying because a suitable transplant wasn't available, I'd be tempted. Would I do it? No, I'd ultimately run up against my foundational beliefs but I'd sure be tempted.
Human beings are not a commodity to be bought and sold by those who can afford it.

Jan. 21, 2007, 12:57 a.m.the shortage of organs has tragic consequences for those who do and do not get them both. It's the vastly undersized supply that leads to problems like this.
Genetics research is one part of the solution, but I'm right with the above poster that organ donation should not be optional. The solution lies in supply matching the live-saving demands. And I'm not big on an opt-out either, once you're dead your organs are of no use to you, to let them go to waste is tacit murder.

Jan. 21, 2007, 1:51 a.m.I find this absolutely irapprehensible. Even the thought of such behavior should cause serious consequence... The people who are doing this and buying these body parts are terrorist!

Jan. 21, 2007, 2:44 a.m.This works 2 ways-think about it. If I croaked tommorrow and my donor card was signed yes.
They would yank all of the goodies out of my body and benefit some criminal in a prison or an illegal. At the time I will find out if turning over in my grave is a reality.
People are starving all over the world. They are doing anything they can to make money.
Growing opium, grabbing organs and kidnappings may outrage us because it inturupts Fox news or some other lame television show. But the people are only trying to survive.

Jan. 21, 2007, 8:16 a.m.Same story out of South America and China. Where there is a demand, someone will create a supply-no matter what the object is. The least able to protect themselves are victimized again.
BTW, a person can legally donate non-life necessity organs, (i.e, kidneys) problem in being able to sell your own organs is most organ loss would result in death of the doner-so, murder again.

Jan. 21, 2007, 8:35 a.m.Sale of human organs in Pakistan is unlawful and there have been only few cases and the offenders have been arrested
and tried. India is doing booming business in surrogate mothers. Child prostitution is also common in India.

Jan. 21, 2007, 10:35 a.m.Last year in China a prison admitted to selling the organs of executed prisoners. Men, woman, and children are at the mercy of their governments to change laws and protect them against all typs of criminals.

Jan. 22, 2007, 6:01 a.m.This happens because there r a lot of demands, is it not?!
Shouldn't there be a law or something to fight against this?! & would anyone stop being deliberately blind to all these?!
These kids ARE the future!! & they have the right to live a happy childhood live, but these people are juz too proud to see this so they'ld rather dig open the innocent bodies of the children and steal whatever is theirs & sell them to the market!!
This is juz sick & wrong!! & this is way against children rights!!

Jan. 24, 2007, 12:23 p.m.When we pray we should be praying for this. Not world peace, our feeding the entire world. These tasks are unattainable. The senseless killings of kids for organs so that they may make a profit is despicable. If I could, I would k*** those bastards. So that maybe those who've perished may rest in peace. Today is the funeral of morality.
