Gas prices don't always follow crude costs »

"Can you explain to me," the voice-mail message from a caller said, "why it is that when crude-oil prices are even rumored to go up the price of gas at the pump shoots up? But when crude oil prices fall, the cost of gasoline doesn't go down."

    Even when crude oil prices are stable, gasoline prices normally fluctuate due to factors such as seasonality and local retail station competition. Additionally, gasoline prices can change rapidly due to crude oil supply disruptions stemming from world events, or domestic problems such as refinery or pipeline outages," according to EIA.

          Attorney General Alberto R. Gonzales should be prosecuting 'big oil' for national price-fixing but instead he is pimping for the Bush Administration's continuing campaign to trash the U.S. Constitution.
