I think documentaries like the one in the article should be in the horror section of the movie store.

That people like this could exist in a post-Enlightenment world is the scariest thing I can imagine.

Ah, but they have a promise to keep and they are going to make sure we all keep it regardless of what we want. At least that is the impression I have gotten from my brother!

She didn't call him a favorite. She just picked him to show her around this foreign world. She didn't know he was going to fall. She had no idea.

There are 80 million of them, I was shocked at that number. I knew that there were many of them but I would have guessed maybe 10 to 20 million tops. There are several of them that post regularly on Netscape and their conviction is remarkabe considering what they profess to believe.

Evangelist and Politicians are one in the same. Their oratory speaks to a moral change and covictions but when you pull the covers back its all hypocrisy.

Have to admit though, I watched her on T.V.(Alexandra Pelosi) and she seems genuine and down to earth.

It has been said a million times.....but it continues to be said for those of us who finally understand the meaning:

The biggest sin in the world is not being true to yourself.

The 80 million figure seems huge to me and I would like to know how it is calculated.

As far as the documentary is concerned, I can imagine how it changed the entire reality of the film to have Ted Haggard brought down by the male prostitute. Wow. And what do you do? I think she was trying to tell a real story that got twisted by other events.

Isn't it funny that evangelical women lie to their husbands just like secular wives. Climaxes everytime! LOL! Yet evangelical men are dumb enough to believe it.

There are many misconceptions about true evangelical Christians. First we do not all spread haterd. But we do not accept some of the things that the world accepts. Jesus never spread words of hate, but he never embraced murder, adultry, false teachings, idol worship or homosexuality. But he did embrace the murderer, the thief, the adulter, the homosexual, and even the false teacher. As a Christian we are called to love the person. Sometimes we fail at even that. A true Christian realizes that they are just as guilty as the next man. What separates us from the rest is that we realize that we are wrong and only a God of grace can truly love those who are wrong, even Christians.

Perhaps it only a reflection of the distrust our media, our religious figures, and our political leaders have cultivated among us, but when I saw the producer's name, I was immediately suspicious. Christian fundamentalists are not about rock stars, miniature golf, and wrestlers. They believe that they represent values which are essential to their own (and others') salvation. But because they are rejected by secular critics they are increasingly choosing to isolate themselves from the rest of America, and that results in their sponsorship (and commercialization) of alternative recreation and entertainment. But such self-imposed isolation cannot be good for our society as a whole.

The question I have to ask is what was Ted Haggard if not a fundamentalists answer to a rock star? There are many people like him in the movement that are jetsetting around, going all over the country, being treated like rock stars, that speak of the word of god.

Many Christian Fundamentalist have just replaced one rock star with another type of rock star (one that preaches).

why is it that this is slowly turning to a dem/rep tit for tat.

if some people get their kicks from religion, then congatulations, i'm happy for you. you should gather and sing and dance, the "gay and happy" dance, of the truely blessed. but, when you start to preach "the word" and try to save the rest of civilization, you have over stepped your bounderies.

please be happy with the fact that heaven will be less crowded without us. and for #%*& sakes, keep religion out of politics. there is no room for politics, or religion, in the bedrooms of "any" nation.

People are human and make mistakes. Regardless of whether they believe in God or not. In fact, Christians should acknowledge that they are sinful, we all are. Hate the sin, love the sinner. Just because a Christian leader sinned, doesn't mean that what he taught wasn't necessarily truth. He was just weak, as is everyone to some extent from time to time. Here's something to consider ... I think most everyone would agree that jealously is not good, yet we all get jealous from time to time. Does that mean that someone who gets jealous can't tell people that jealously isn't healthy? If anything, a person who suffers from jealous feelings probably has the most insight into it. My point is that all Christian leaders are imperfect, but if their message resonates with people and helps them, then they are just like everyone else. Flawed, but valued and worthwhile.

Aren't we all better off just believing in what we see in the mirror in the morning? Hey at least we can see us right? Hey I'll BRB, I'm going on a crime spree,,,, no GOD or religion can tell me what's right or wrong......

However, he made a living off of, among other things, condemning the actions of homosexuals. That makes him a hypocrite and a self-loather.

Pretty Analogous of the Democrats condoning Homosexuality then condemning it in order to help win an election? Or here's a good one, Pelosi talking about ethics then wanting to place some of the most unethical schlubs in positions of power, even having her own little shady deals as she postures.

Oh yeah Humans are hypocrites, only difference is some always get a pass when it comes to bad behavior and some get raked over the coal by the Gotcha goons.
