Pelosi reaching out to bloggers to secure Democratic agenda »

Posted by: Spadecaller 2 years, 11 months ago

Pelosi hired a full-time staff member this month dedicated to blogger outreach. It's all evidence of the newfound attention bloggers from left-leaning Web sites are commanding on Democratic-run Capitol Hill, especially from the new speaker, a San Franciscan with an appreciation for the power of the Internet and grass-roots activism.

If her staff member looks in the right places he will find out that this country is screaming for IMPEACHMENT of Bush. NOW!

What better place is there than the internet and the bloggers to take the pulse of the nation? Pelosi, among other politicians, are learning how to read 'their' voters. It is even more specific than the best polls.

Well, Nancy, we've been calling for an end to the war and the impeachment of Bush and Cheney. I'm sure you are now well aware of how the American people felt when you took it off the table. Are you reconsidering yet? Your political future depends on it; I'm sure you have noticed.

Informed bloggers can certainly make a difference. Look at the midterm elections. Also, just read some of the tripe that comes from the neocon right and it's obvious that they're certainly not capable of winning over new converts. It's obvious to all but a dense few that the emperor is naked and many bloggers began hearing it on the internet first.

The extremist right-wingers have brought so much bad press upon themselves by their rude attacks and consequently, they have isolated themselves even more.

Regardless of issues, their lack of courtesy and respect for their fellow Americans has undermined their cause and has only brought more discredit to their leaders, Bush and Cheney.

In essence, their behavior has been helping to unify Republican centrists, Democrats, independents, Green party members, libertarians, populists, and liberals, alike. The consensus on impeachment and the war is only growing stronger.

If all politicians in Congress would start paying attention to the blogosphere, we would soon have impeachment under way. It cannot come too soon.

I don't even care if there is a "conflict of interest" inherent in the Speakers of the House & Senate attempting to remove the sitting Pres and Vice Pres. At this point, I wouldn't care if someone chose a random congressman's name out of a hat to be President. They are ALL more capable, Democrat Republican Independent, than the war criminals we have in office now.

At the rate that moderate and independents are fleein the GOP with no intention of going back anytime soon, the Democrats have an excellent chance of being the majority party for the foreseeable future if only they can seperate themselves from the juvenile left and pursue a moderate course. But, all this juvenile name calling and third grade attempts at journalism is no way to keep attracting middle America.

As a moderate I am not happy with the way Bush is handling his time in office. I still feel he was the right person in office during 9/11. He kept this country together and lead us through some trying times. As for those who are calling for impeachment, you have to realize what is involved to make this happen. First of all, in the EYES OF THE LAW you have to prove a crime was committed. If a representative feels Bush broke a law, an investigation would be conducted and proof would have to be found. They then have to draft a resolution of impeachment and bring it up before Congress. Congress would then authorize their own investigation and again if proof is found they would vote to impeach or not to impeach. Keep in mind these representatives will more likely vote the way their constituents demand or they will vote in such a way to bolster their own agenda. Impeachment is a double edged sword that can hurt a representatives career based on the way they voted. (cont)

(cont) This is a long and drawn out process and Bush would more likely be out of office before a vote would even be brought before Congress. Look at the Clinton impeachment. In the EYES OF THE LAW he "did not have sex with that woman". A BJ is not considered sex but intercourse is in the EYES OF THE LAW. Clinton was not damaged by the impeachment process because Arlen Specter woosed out and voted not to impeach. If Specter had shown some balls, Clinton may have been removed from office or forced to resign. Up until that time I had respect for Specter but lost it after that vote. Impeachment cannot happen simply because people feel a need for it. If you want Bush impeached, contact your representative and force the issue. Screaming about it on a blog does nothing. Congress has the power to control Bush, but it takes time. Let them attempt this instead of tearing this country apart with the mess of trying to impeach Bush.

Just another post by spadecaller designed to bash Bush and get the usual responses from his minions. I suppose there is some worth to the post, it got others to comment and they got to see the hate there is in the world for anyone who doesn't agree with you. Impeachment is the only thing on the minds of some people, you'll notice on some posts that if the president would resign and become citizen again, they'd want him arrested and tried outside our legal system at the Hague.

The terrorists should be covered by OUR constitution, the president should be subject to international law. Such hate filled irrational thinking! As I said before, you can better evaluate the message when you look at the author.

The media in America is so entirely dominated by the right wing viewpoint, there is literally nowhere to go but the net for liberals or anyone interested in unbiased information. For instance, the fat drug addicted 5 time divorced professional liar Rush Limbaugh brodcasts his radio extreamism on the Military Radio with no opposing viewpoint allowed. I imagine that at least 1/2 of the soldiers are Democrats. Stalin never had it so good.

                                                  About "Bush Bashing":

"The President is merely the most important among a large number of public servants.

He should be supported or opposed exactly to the degree which is warranted by his good conduct or bad conduct, his efficiency or inefficiency in rendering loyal, able, and disinterested service to the Nation as a whole.

Therefore it is absolutely necessary that there should be full liberty to tell the truth about his acts, and this means that it is exactly necessary to blame him when he does wrong as to praise him when he does right.

Any other attitude in an American citizen is both base and servile. To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public."
