I say the "time may be now" for atheists to commit disobedience by declaring in writing that they deny the existence of God BECAUSE this article was also featured on Digg.com. By seizing the opportunity to join some Digg'ers in writing the Governor, you could help create a critical mass of people which would make it much harder to keep this law on the books.

Does anyone seriously believe that a guy's gonna get arrested for being an atheist in Massachusetts. Can we just move on folks?

Who'd have thought Massachusetts would have a law like that? Must be a holdover from the Puritan days.

As for the alleged unconstitutionality of it: would to God some state would get the guts to tell the federal courts to shove it and they are going to enforce whatever law they please, constitution or no constitution.
