Feb. 2, 2007, 12:32 a.m.This must be the first time a major city was brought to its knees by the power of lite-brite.
I warned them this would happen.
Now they see; two hippies and a fistful of colorful plastic pegs and you can kiss your freedom goodbye!

Feb. 2, 2007, 11:18 a.m.The reaction was extreme, to say the least, but Ill admit - my first reaction after reading about this was "couldnt they have just called the cops the day before and said 'we have an add campaign starting tomorrow where a bunch of lit signs will be posted around the city to promote our show'."
Seems like a simple and wise thing to error on the side of caution.....

Feb. 2, 2007, 5:20 p.m.So now they are asking who is going to pay for this Hoax.
Are you telling me that Boston does not pay it's police to sit in police cars eating donuts. Sounds like to me that they had to work for a day. Big Deal!! It did not cost anything that it was not going to be spent anyway. Oh, I guess they gave out less Speeding Tickets so they count that.

Feb. 5, 2007, 3:37 p.m.Today Turner announced they will pay $2 million for the "scare", taking full responsibility for it.
I think its great that they take responsibility for the signs, and having them hung (helping out the two who were arrested for 'placing a hoax device' and public disturbances).
But I think Boston also needs to take responsibility for overreacting and being dumb. How about that?
There is no chance that will happen, but it would be nice. 11 cities had these signs, and only one overreacted. And that single negative reaction is Turners fault?
So no Boston gets $2 mill. If I were one of the other cities, Id ask for $2 mill as well. They had the signs, why shouldnt they get the payout?
Because they werent stupid......
