And just how stupid was the mother?

She got what she deserved. As a parent, I NEVER took any chances with my most prized possessions.

I was being stalked during the arrival and first year of my first baby's birth. I never let her out of my sight. Scariest experience of my life.

It is a good thing the baby was unharmed provided the mother learned her lesson from it.

Leaving your kid unattended is not the best of ideas, but how many times have you forgotten something in the house at the last minute and needed to run in real quickly?? Trying to get the child out of the safety seat, into the house w/you, back to the safety seat isn't easy.

Not that I'm excusing the mother but I can understand the plight.

We wouldn't have to worry about stuff like that in the first place if there were not so many con's on the streets to begin with,or if we had more cops.

I understand that too- it only takes a minute- lock the kid in the car and make sure you have the extra set of keys on you! Very scary world out there, as I had learned first-hand. I don't know if more cops are the answer, and I am not sure it is always the convicts who do it. I really don't think the conservatives would do it!! Not sure which cons you were referring to....Kidding! :)

Good one mbkijb, they sure changed the meaning of the word conserve,(maybe that's how they work). I was just thinking of more eyes on the streets,ex.-the days of policemen walking a beat.
