I didn't realize when I wrote this how many people have similar memories of video arcades, and how many people miss them.

At SG, there was lots of talk about a great retro arcade in Portland, Oregon. Man, I really wish there was something like that here in Los Angeles.

Will, you have disillusioned me...I am older than you! (but not by much :-P )I always thought older actors played younger characters and so always assumed you were older than me.... (that'll teach me to assume) I used to go to arcades and had a lot of fun but truly miss Zookeeper at the local gas station/convenience store (it was a small town so no arcades) a whole bunch of us waiting in line to play and trying to one up each other. Trying,so hard, to make every quarter last as long as possible cause we didn't have many. The storekeeper yelling at us and telling us to leave when we got too boisterous. As for Pac Man, I loved playing both Mrs Pac Man and Pac Man at the city recreation center. We would spend the day a alternating between using the pool and playing the games... There was an arcade on the mall in Boulder we used to go to too, I don't remember the name but when they pan past it on Mork and Mindy I always go "Hey, I used to hang out there!" Those were the days...
