"Confirmation wasn't the issue," the reporter maintained. "This was a mouse."

"Evidence aside, the real crime in Liu's mind was the little quip about "fried mice"-a play on fried rice-in the introduction to the original piece, which he said made the whole segment racist."

So much anger could not, obviously, be fomented in a single week. The protesters saw the mouse'n'broccoli report as the latest in a string of unfounded ethnic slurs from the station."

One might say, the mouse was just the tip of the ... chop suey.

Sheesh. A real mouse in the food? Yuck. I think the demonstration should have been against the restaurant, not the TV station. Course, the station didn't do itself any favors with a "fried mice" lead in. A bit tacky maybe. But I'd still be more upset with getting a mouse in my meal than with hearing about someone else discovering the mouse. I just don't want my food mickeyed with.

So because mice rhymes with rice it's racist to report getting a mouse in my food?

And hey! That Korean restaraunt was NOT serving dog meat, it was COYOTE meat!

How could they even manage to round up 200 protesters?

          This screams "Photo-Op" doesn't it?

Asian Americans please dont take offense, this is America and Democratic ideals such as free press, opposing ideas flourish.

As I watch TV documentries I see asians eating things I had no idea were even edible. Our cultures are distinct and obvious, but to demonstrate about a "mouse" in your food only gave the "mouse" more media exsposure.

I will give you this though, as a kid I still remember my mother telling me there was cat meat in my Chow Mein.

Not all Chinese Take-Outs or Chinese Restauants are the same, just as not all people are the same.

But mice ... well, their gross similarities as an item on the Poo-Poo Platter will cure my appetite for eating Asian cuisine outside my own kitchen.

Darn...I saw that list years ago and thought they were maximum allowable amounts...so may rodent hairs or insect eggs allowed. That was nauseating enough. Now you tell me they're 'requirements'. Does that mean they HAVE to put all that stuff in?
