I am truly saddened by this news. I knew that honey bees were having a bad time for the past couple of years but I didn't know it was this bad. I'm a honey user and the thought of going back to sugar is awful! I guess my coffee is going to be black--no sugar.

This is really nothing to take lightly or make joke of.... this is serious stuff- they are the pollinators of our world, and without them, we will suffer the consequences when we have no more fruits or vegetables to eat!!!!! Or when there are no more trees... the lists go on and on and on... I sure hope they find a cure for this problem! This is major stuff.

Re: Mystery Illness Killing U.S. Honeybees by the Thousands

I have researched this matter and have yet to uncover any geographic data. Is this matter just in the U.S. or is it a global issue?

My first impression was that this honeybee matter has something to do with U.S. cell-phone transmission towers. Perhaps they (cell-phone transmission towers) are emanating something that affects the honeybee's immune system.

The rise of this honeybee problem is (seems) to be in perfect alignment with the proliferation of cell-phone transmissions.

"...make all the little bees little tinfoil hats to wear."

My research has uncovered many fine tin foil hat designs that could easily be altered to fit a bee, grasshopper, toad or other small animal.

Try: http://people.csail.mit.edu/rahimi/helmet. This site describes The Centurion, The Fez and The Classical. These three fine Reynolds double tin foil hats are attractive, sporty and reflect dangerous rays back into the dark reaches of space where they belong while at the same time reducing global warming. For best results in reducing global warming and deflecting cell phone tower impulses wear continuously from sun-up till sun-down.

This is a frightening and serious piece of news. We are so dependent on the little critters. Not just for their honey, but for what they do for crops. Without pollination, there are no fruits on the fruit trees, no nuts, no tomatoes, no peppers. I sure hope they can find a solution to this problem.
