At a recent concert, the 35-year-old singer stuck up his middle finger when he sang the president's name in his song "Asignatura Pendiente," which includes the words, "a photo with Bush." The gesture last Friday prompted cheers from thousands of fans in the San Juan stadium

quote - "Martin, like other artists,"

I thought him more of a tool than an artist.

I salute you Ricky, for expressing your feelings. I salute Bush exactly the same way you did!

Allright,Mr.Martin. That may have been a little much as some may tend to take it as directed at them personally. So many are now just plain p---ed off, this is not good for U.S. in general.

It's great that he feels the freedom to express himself, just as I enjoy the freedom to dislike his music. I don't know anything about him personally, nor do I care to. Frankly, I wouldn't mind if we gave the Puerto Rican islands back to Spain, and concentrated our resources in the commonwealth of Irsq.

It's the "finger" for God's sake. Who gives a f**k? The rest of the world is flipping us off too. Go for it Ricky and anyone else who has an opinion, even if it doesn't agree with our government leaders.

The man has a right to his own opinion. It's called freedom of expression. However, since old "Bushy" has been in office, it seems that fewer citizens get to use that freedom. Do I support our troops? Definitely. I'm married to a proud soldier. However, I would rather poke my own eyes out than support the war on Iraq. It should not be our war to fight. If the people of Iraq can not find peace, and find a way to get a successful working government, then our presence in the country will not do any more to help them do such. I can understand our soldiers being in Afghanistan, with all of the threats of AlQuaeda, but we are doing more harm than good in being in Iraq at the moment. We've done all we can do for them. It's their turn to do something for themselves.

I am not saying they don't have a right to free speech , but what i do wish to see some day that they can be equally out spoken against all factions that harm innocent people in the drive for cause. Is it because speaking out against a country like the USA, Britain, France or Canada allows them a safety net and they know they will not be hunted from some extremist ordering there deaths? When these Celebes are able to stand in front of crowd and deliver equal out spoken contempt against all those that hurt the innocent then and only then will i consider them a worthy cause. Tell me if one of those suicide bombers walked into a concert and blew him self and a few hundred fans up is not a possibility? And of coarse that would i am sure about end his concert tour because who would come? But i am sure this has been thought of and that is why they speak only of those that will in the same voice they belittle are the voice that will protect them in an extremist case!

I can see that you are very patriotic, but the fact is that this was an unjust war to start with. It isn't about 911, it's not about terrorism, It's not about Saddam, and it's not about national security. It has nothing to do with a democracy in Iraq, IT'S ABOUT MONEY!

I must ask you, if the election in 2000 had turned out different, and Al Gore had won the election, then when the energy crisis hits calif. he does nothing, and then when 911 hits, he waits almost a year, and does very little then. New Orleans is destroyed and he does nothing, On top of that, he invades the wrong country, and 6 years later we aren't even looking for Bin Laden. Would you be supporting him and his "wrong war"? HE LL NO! You are influenced only by the fact that Bush is a mamber of the GOP. Party loyalty is all you are thinking about. Meanwhile this idiot is destroying our economy, and our reputation as a respectable nation.

Searunner, I've seen quotes before from Damliberals before.

He has no concept of anything. He is an idiot who thinks anyone who opposes Bush is a traitor. I think that this is referred to as a dictatorship. That is the Repubs and Bush's ploy that either follow me or accept the consequences.
