I'm glad for the age of technology that we live in. I sure hope that medical science can help the unfortunate souls with poor eyesight disorders...

I began to loose my vision 17 years ago at age 27. My doctors still cannot agree on a diognosis, but it is a retinal disease. I've spent a great deal of time researching the latest proceedures, and technologies.

The Argus II technology began about 15 years ago, and it really has not progressed in all of these years. They are talking about a 16 pixel (for lack of a better term) view where a healthy eye is made up of literally billions of photoreceptors.

Technology isn't the answer. Medical science, and research in stem cells is our only real hope. The human retina is composed of specialized nerve tissue, and mankind has not unlocked the secrets of regenerating nerve tissue.

If you REALLY want the blind to see again; if you want the paralyzed to walk again, if you want to see diseases like Alzheimers, and Parkinsons erradicated...SUPPORT STEM CELL RESEARCH! Push for government funding.

I have a Family member who received an eye transplant over 20 years ago???9 He was able to see a lot better than before... It was a woman's brown eye and he was very thankful...

This had nothing to do with Stem Cell research???

Stem Cell research is a whole new topic...

        Don't Get Fooled.....

        Respectively.

Eye transplant??? No, you are mistaken, a cornea transplant, but not an eye transplant...it is currently impossible.
