Feb. 19, 2007, 2:41 a.m.A hospital, of sorts, was set up by our government in Afghanistan (Kabul), and named after Laura Bush. A very nice man, a Physician who emigrated to the U.S. from Afghanistan decades ago, volunteered to go help set it up and train its Afghanistan employees. The place was a dump. He asked the Dept. of Health and Human Services for supplies. They sent him nothing. He asked again. They sent him nothing. He bought soap so he could wash before surgery. He took pictures of the filthy and broken conditions that existed in the bathroom. He asked for supplies. They sent him nothing. He prepped for surgery, and didn't have any left handed gloves. He asked the Dept. of Health and Human Services again for supplies. They sent him nothing. Meanwhile, the administration bragged about the medical program to our press. The DR gave up and came home. He could do nothing to help the Afghan people.
Don't give this freaking administration a GD dime!
