Feb. 19, 2007, 5:36 p.m.Good luck to them trying to get the base country listeners to ever start buying music by them and and boycotting stations (and their advertisers)that play them. They are free to talk politics and we are free to ignore them.

Feb. 24, 2007, 6:30 p.m.Has anyone seen the documentary film, "Protestiing the Dixie Chicks"? It came out a little bit before "Shut Up and Sing". It's made by a guy who followed the Dixie Chicks tour of 2003, documenting the protests and discourse from the crowds outside the venues. It's actually pretty incredible; some of the scenes are much more hard hitting and compelling than those of "Shut Up and Sing". It is not really about the Dixie Chicks, per say, it's about the controversy of Natalie's statement which launches into American attitudes on dissent, crass commercialism, and the war on Iraq.
Very curious to hear from others who have seen it.
There's a trailer of it at http://www.protestingthedixiechicks.com
